It is a dry read. (Happy, Bouncy X?
) Still, it was somewhat interesting. I find it odd - and slightly disturbing - that a PG-13 movie would be considered family-friendly. That would only possibly be true if all the children were 13 and up.

The article intimated that the movie also wants to target younger children, a phrase which typically means young males from 9 to 14. My point is that it is not a movie to which I would bring a 9, 10, 11 or 12 year-old to see.

I get your point, but look at Jurassic Park. As violent and as gory as it was, it's considered family fare. (Which by today's standards, and what's out there now, it's timid by comparison)
That's where they're coming from.

2007 will forever be known as the year where EVERYTHING gets a movie and crap movies get sequels
Simpsons, Transformers, Bratz (*shudder*), FF2, Pirates 3...

Based on some of the images in the comic adaptation, I'm not sure I'd call it family friendly anyway...
