First off, this is inspired by SG hailstorm's version here:

This is my first time doing a "full" custom paint-job: removing the existing paint (nail polisher remover probably not the best idea for that...) and applying a new one using some old acrylic paints and fine-line color markers I had lying around. I'm cheap....

The donor-Kreon was the otherwise uninteresting "specialist" included with the truck-Megatron Kre-O set. The head and arm cannon come from Megatron, of course, while the helmet is Crankstart's. I know the cannon is "supposed" to be on the shoulder, but I wanted to keep this custom very simple.

Megatron's head and cannon can attach to either body (or, well, ANY Kreon body, really; and any other head or arm-mounted things can attach to either Megatron body; my point is this isn't a "permanent" swap for Megatron).

Hey, that's fun! I like how you went with the Crankstart helmet to give it a more classic G2 Megs look.

Have you thought about using waterslide decals? I just got in my shipment of blank Lego heads (gray-colored) and was planning on ordering some decal paper. In theory laser printer decal paper would let you draw your design on the computer.

I also stole Botch the Crab's idea to order Lego neck-braces from the Pick-a-brick store and used one to give Soundwave an over-the-shoulder cannon. I bet you could do the same for G2 megs if you wanted to kick it up a notch.

I'll have to check those out. It'd be grand to be able to print decal designs instead of hand-paint/draw them right on the figures themselves.

...ah, but what a slippery slope that'd be.

I'm having a heckuva time finding a retailer that sells these things without having to pay more for shipping than for the paper itself...and then I'd have to find someplace to print on the paper in color for me. So it might not get that slippery.

P.S. I also just realized that you can use Lego neck brackets on shoulder joints...which gives you a convenient stud / epaulet right over the robot's arms.
