Q's about Music Label Soundwave.
Just got my Music Label Soundwave Blaster Black version and I'm ready for him to play some jams but first I need help..
1. It takes mini SD cards right?
2. 1 or 2 GB?
3. How do they look like? I've never used or seen a mini SD card.
4. How do I upload mp3s to it?
Also, if you have any info I should know about while I use Soundwave that would help too. Thanks.

1. Yep it does.
2. Package says 1 GB, but some say it supports 2 GB
3. Here's an image with all 3 SD card types: standard, mini and micro
4. Just upload the mp3's one at a time on the card (you don't need to put them in a folder), assuming you have the right SD drive on your computer. The Mini and Micro ones require an adapter, but those are usually supplied with the cards.

1. Correct.
2. either one will work. but no more than 2gb.
3. They are very tiny:

About the size of a US penny. Only square. And they usually come with a regular side SD card adapter so you can stick it in any card reader that takes SD cards.
4. Using a card reader, plug it onto your PC, and then plug the mem card into the reader.
From there you can use either Media Player's sync feature or just drag and drop mp3 and WAV files to the drive. It will not play anything else, like WMA or Itunes music format.

Just one more thing to add about question 2: it tends to act up when you use a 2 GB card, though some say it works fine. IMO, it's probably a case by case thing, but I just thought you should know.

How does it act up with a 2 GB? Just wondering.

There have been some reports by reviewers, and the store owner who sold me my ML Soundwave stating that some customers brought the thing back and complained that the mp3's either won't play or would sometimes freeze without warning. After asking a few questions, he found out that they were using 2GB cards instead of the recommended 1GB.
As far as I can tell, it seems to be a case by case thing, where cards of different brands either work better or not as good compared to one another. Now this is just the opinion of the store owner, but he claims that "third party" brands tend to work better with ML Soundwave.
Since I only use the ML Soundwave for display purposes (honestly, it's not exactly the best MP3 player in the world

Almost the same problem that I had with my iPod: the songs were uploaded via USB 1.1 (my computer was old, ok?

You got it for his playing capabilities? You are fortunate to own one (is it spark blue?) Wished I could have gotten one too.

Yeah, it's blue (no other way for me). And I figured it'd be a good conversation starter.

As an MP3 player, yes, he sucks. As a Classics Soundwave, he's teh jamz.
This is pretty much the reason I shudder when people suggest MP figures that actually function (sort of) as their alt mode, such as Soundwave before he was released or Reflector. You'd be paying inflated prices for bottom of the line product. Just give me the figure without the crappy functionality I'll never use.

Also be aware that it will play the songs in the order they are loaded onto the card. For the record I use either a 512 MB micro SD card that came with my cell phone or a 1 GB one I got free from my dad along with a an adapter i got from a Kingstong 8 GB micro SD card kit. I do the same with my digital camera and in both cases i can easily change the micro sd card without removing the adapter from the device. The sound quality is not great--sounds like mud compared to a good system--but i just used it for drum tracks when playing open mics. I made sure to load the tranforming sound from the 80s as the first track.
Edit: Forgot to mention: i also got a micro SD usb adapter with the kingston kit (turns the sd card into a USB flash drive). That is how i usuaully load stuff onto or off of my micro sd cards. But you can also do it by putting them into a phone or camera that has the appropriate SD slot and a usb cable to hook it to the computer. I do that when it's more convenient for my larger capacity cards.

For sale: My entire Transformers and third-party collection. Includes Masterpiece, Generations, Universe, Movie, Prime, Armada/Energon/Cybertron, G1, G2, a few Japanese imports, etc. Many never opened, the rest displayed in enclosed display cases to keep the dust off. A few ads on Craigslist/OfferUp for DC/MD/VA locals, will post on boards or ebay when I have time.
