I couldn't get the track to download after several tries. Is the original CD version available commercially?

There's a difference between variety and irrelevance.
That's not meant to be a jab at Stan, my point is the 80s sound simply has no place in this Transformers project. To be honest, I'm flabbergasted that so many of you want this sort of stuff in the movie.
Just because this is based on a property born in the 80s doesn't make it the goddamned Wedding Singer. You want your old school, go buy the old movie and soundtrack and lament your lost innocence.
And I'm not necessarily in favor of the new soundtrack either, as I've not heard most of it. I'm more looking forward to the Original Score CD.

As for the song, it's not bad. But please, don't rip on Stan Bush as untalented. You don't win Emmys for being untalented (except for best actor/actress in a soap opera).

chuckdawg1999 wrote:Is the original song "Ground Zero" a 9/11 tribute?
Actually, "Ground Zero" (along with "Critical Mass") was a track by Stan and Vince for the 1997 Botcon. I will say that the song does feel a little weird after 9/11 occured, but the two are unrelated. I actually have a theory that this is part of the reason Stan changed the lyrics and made a few other changes while he was at it. Again, it is just my theory at the moment.
As for most of the comments being made here, "Ground Zero" (and 'Til All Are One)is a great piece of music (to me at least). No, it's not like today's crap, and it's not meant to be. It's not the same genre as Mutemath or Linkin Park and never will be. Those bands don't appeal to me, but Stan Bush (and classic rock) does. I bet the same holds true for the opposite (in most cases). It's just a matter of taste. Heck, I wouldn't care for a rap or jazz TF song, but I'm sure someone would.
Plus, this is not the piece that Stan submitted for the new movie. We haven't heard that one yet! Ths is just a remix/rerecording of an older song with some lyric twists to include on the US release of his album (which rocks by the way - I have the Italian version). Yes, he's capitalizing on his TF fanbase. Why not? Wouldn't you market and create music that the majority of your fans would be interested in?

LMAO... I like that.
Maybe if somebody 'mashed' this with an song from linkin park (not their new rubbish one) or somebody similar it could be dragged kickin and screaming into this century.
I just listened to the updated transformers the movie theme released by Black Lab... now thats how you update a song... pity it wont be used.

Qoted for mother-effin truth.
Here's a good idea people.....remember that in a case like this, there is no fact....only opinion.
Example:
This music sucks....in my opinion.
This music dosen't fit with the movie.....in my opinion.
This music is similar to music from the 80's & that makes it crap.....in my opinion.
or in my case:
the music was good, but the lyrics were lame....in my opinion.
But not everybody shares that opinion, & I respect their opinions, provided it's respecting others'.
Just keep in mind, people, wether music is considered good or not is almost completely opinion, & respect the opinions of other people on the boards. treat others the way we want to be treated & such......
Save the environment....don't piss in the genepool.....peace.

Gee, harsh much?
You were born in the 90's, weren't you? 90's music sucked worse than emo. The only good music from the 90's was grunge and NIN.
I was born in 87 my mom had me when she was older I have a brother who has 13 years on me he was the original transformers dude in our family. the music was bad back then I had to listen to my brothers crappy motley crue and metallica that **** sucked. as for the stan bush comment it was a joke!! besides if you cant take a hair joke then dont wear silly toupees...ok just shave your head like bruce willis and say yippie kai yay motherf-ucker. is there humor left with you olden dudes or did your winger albums suck it all away....ahhh nevermind just sit your dateless asses in front of your computer and eat your hot pockets.
Saying 80's music sucks on a TF board is like telling people in a gothic club you like Paris Hilton, it's not a good idea.
Though I respect your opinion, I don't like you calling us fans who have been since the beginning old and "dateless" many of us on here are married, something you, with your attitude, will never be.

I was born in 1981 and personally while I love the original TF movie soundtrack (mostly coz of nostalgia) I don't believe anything that sounds like those songs belongs in the new movie. I don't like the Mutemath theme either but I definitely think this new movie needs to stay as far away from '80s cheese metal as possible. I can appreciate some good cheese metal but there's a time and a place for that and this movie is neither.
I agree that it does not fit in the new movie.

Indeed. I myself am married & have 2 kids. Not only that, but "the Touch" is one of the few songs I tend to play that my daughter really likes. It's kinda funny seeing a 5-year-old girl running around the house singing, "You've got the touch....you've got the powerrrrrrrr!!!"Decepticon Spike wrote:reanimate28 wrote:Decepticon Spike wrote:reanimate28 wrote:the movie guys didnt wanna pick this tune up eh? That's cool!
I've been married once, and getting ready to do it again. My fiance wants "The Touch" and "Dare" played at our wedding.
When we have kids, they are not listening to any of this new stuff till they are older. Music should make you feel good, not make you feel like you should wear a condom while hearing it, or make you angry.

And what kind of girl like your kind of attitude? That right, GIRLS not WOMEN!

I F***'in Love it!!! Whether it has a place in the movie or not is unfortunately not up to me, but this song rules. It is indeed very inspiring sounding. And on the same token, Stan Bush is extremely talented. Pretty much the fact that he can still sing like that is testament enough. A friend of mine went to a party held for a video game release in L.A. last week, and Stan Bush was hired to play the party. She sent me a clip of him playing "The Touch" and he sounded as kick ass as he ever did, even through a crappy cell phone recording. Also i assure you, thats his real hair. KEEP KICKIN ASS STAN!!!!!
