My pal and comic book artist Tony Fleecs has a line of prints featuring comic tragedies but drawn in a cute way. They're designed in the vein of the Love Is... strips.

He's done one based on Batman: A Death in the Family

And one based on Wolverine: Old Man Logan

I requested a commission by him based on Transformers: The Movie. My commission came out perfect! The original art is mine and I can't wait to own the final print as well.

Interesting. I say that because there is an awful lot going on in these. They have that tragic feel that seems really at odds with the cutesy manner in which it's presented. Then piling the life-lesson-type phrase at the bottom seems like too much.

They make me feel...conflicted.

Yep, that's why I love these prints. The juxtaposition is great and hilarious.

Yeah, I don't know if they're supposed to be funny, but they are.

Side note: every time I see Cyclops, I feel the urge to say "Shut up, Scott." *shrug*
