-Soundwave
Soundwave is used by the Destron army as Megatron's personal spy to collect secret information from the Autobots. There is a long history to the Destrons. It started about 900 million years ago on planet Cybertron when Megatron organized an uprising to attain his rightful status as leader of Cybertron. The uprising split the planet into two sides, the Autobots and the evil force known as the Destron army. Soundwave's minions, the Cassetrons, are experts at collecting information, watch over all activity on Cybertron, and have succeeded in halting the Autobot's plans. As an intelligence source and information collector, Soundwave can detect and monitor the brain circuits and impulses of those nearby and thereby read their minds. By utilizing the magnetic discs in his body, Soundwave can record mass amounts of memory data. As a Destron spy, he also controls the Cassettron in his chest cavity. He is also the Cassettrons' leader. Either by the whim of Megatron or by his own design he sets out to send them to war. The Cassettrons always listen to the instructions of Soundwave. The other members of the Destrons are weary about Soundwave, but the Cassettrons are well trusted by them. During war they are always on the front line, but they are not as strong as other members of the Destrons, but they are intelligent and for their power and skill to hold and secure information, they are highly valued. Soundwave knows his worth and importance and does not care what others may think of him, but his admiration of Megatron is among the highest amongst the Destrons. The same goes for the Cassettrons, but since they cannot express emotions it is hard to decipher their feelings towards Soundwave.
-Device Mode- Cassette player
On Earth Soundwave transforms into a portable cassette player. This mode is helpful in assimilating planet Earth and its people, but compared to the vehicular modes that the Autobots use it is far weaker and not suitable for combat. Therefore he uses his robot mode most frequently. When collecting information from his Cassettrons during spy activity, Soundwave transforms into the portable cassette player mode. Usually the unspeaking animal type Cassettrons can transmit info by means of the Earth's TV and radio waves or via spy camera, but sometimes with the Jaguar Cassettron he uses Soundwave's voice as his own. It can be said that, as an expert spy and information transmitter, his look suits his abilities as a portable cassette player.
-Eject
In Soundwave's chest cavity several Cassettrons are tucked away as cassette tapes.　When you say "Eject" and push the right shoulder button, the panel will open and a Cassettron will eject. Depending on the situation Soundwave will eject the appropriate Cassettron.
-Concussion Blaster-
A vibration blaster weapon that serves as a handheld gun for Soundwave. With its high-frequency wave it can harm an opponent without exterior damage while annihilating them internally. During combat with the Cybertrons it can serve as the same type of laser weapon like the ones carried by the other Destron soldiers.
-Megatron Gun-
Megatron, the Emperor of Destruction, can change his appearance to gun mode which intensifies his destructive power. In gun mode he does need a wielder, though, and Soundwave serves in that function. One example being the 58th Episode "Fire on the Mountain", where Soundwave used it to corner Cybertron soldiers.
-Display-
On Soundwave's chest you can see various types of images being displayed. It can be used to share information with other Destrons and to strategically plan battles. It is also used to show data from the brain and to show space cruiser schematics to the Megatron.
-Transform-
On planet Cybertron the ability to transform was developed during its long period of war. On Earth many take the form of vehicles, but some can become any device used by humans. They can even be as small as they need to be by changing the mass of their materials. By doing this they easily assimilate into daily human life.
-Energon Cube-
From the chest panel you can create the Energon cube's frame. You can take energy from nearby power plants etc. and store it here to make Energon cubes. It is the source of energy for Transformers and space cruisers.
-Condor-
Of all the Cassetrons he is the most destructive. He has great flight ability and can attack from anywhere. Highly regarded for his accomplishments. His record has proven his worth to Megatron.

At the request of the Japanese to English translator I stuck with the commonly known name of Destron. There is a more literal translation that was used initially, but it was too rough and unfamiliar so we went with this.
