Evolution of project so far.... Very excited to see how the paint scheme is somehow modifying the looks of it in a very positive way

You'll realize that I plan on replacing the purple Devastator parts by black washed silver.
I want to keep the G1 feel to it but I want to add some realism in it.

You didnt make any bad decisions dude!

I wish i wasnt in an art slump because otherwise id offer to draw this guy for you once he is finished so that you can have some kickass artwork to go with your custom for when you advertise him.

Until I finish this, you'll probably have more time!
It would be great to have some artwork to go with this!

awesome **** man. I really love how this is coming...
on a personal note, I finally got the last 2 components to this yesterday. So...today, I work more on building my own.
mine will be very similar, in fact, like i said, it will pretty much rip off your model. I have a few "additions" and changes on mine, but once I saw your OP, I knew I had to make one for myself.

keep it up.

I always had a bit of disappointment in the Energon Demolisher figure. He just didn't look very good to me. Your Long Haul is so awesome that it makes me dislike E. Demolisher even more. I want this Devastator so badly! My only dislike is that Long Haul's head looks more like Scrapper's. I would have painted the whole thing silver aside from the visor so it would look more like his cartoon head. It might look kinda boring that way but the figure is so good I doubt it would take away from it.

Do you have any dislikes about where the combined mode is going?
If you think Long Haul's head should be all silver then silver it shall be sir!

Customizing is just so cool, isn't it. I think I've decided, instead of copying your idea completely, to make a larger version of a different G1 combiner. Someone very... Asepticon

I love it so much Ptitvite! The awful figure that was once Energon Demolisher now looks so amazing I almost crapped in my pants whilst urinating. I would have preferred the head be all silver for toon accuracy but creative license is in order.

I think Devastator with more silver will look nice, but I don't really see how it's more realistic than purple or green. No matter what you do though this custom just can't look bad.

I don't know if I could have done any better even if I had come up with this idea myself.

I am really positively shocked of the reactions I'm getting from this bash
and getting alot of satisfaction from the fact that you like it so far.
I wanted to keep the G1 green but to make it more real, I'm replacing
the purple by silver.
Silver paint blackwashed and given some mate clear looks like real
steel. I had done a poll about Dev's colors about 2 months ago and opinions balanced between G1 and movie style painting so I tried it both ways. Oh and Long Haul's head is all silver now, I just need to blackwash it but the paint is still not dry enough.

nice, but it ´d be convenient if Energon demolishor didn´t have a crotchplate. Devastator looks double-crotched now lol.
I really like how the seperate robots are looking so far, especially scrapper.

Wait until you see the final results. I can't remove the front bumber as it would look stoopid in truck mode.
Instead, I'll try and see if I can hide it with the chest plate I'm building.

Nah. I wouldn't bother hiding Demolishor's bumper. It looks more like a belt than a second "codpiece".
