An Odd Connection Between G1 Skywarp and Movie Dreadwing

I have noticed that people have asked, on and off, if there will be a movie repaint of Skywarp, like they did Thundercracker. I was hoping myself until I was reading the backcard of Dreadwing. Hasbro has made these two 'bots very similar in some very significant ways.

G1 Skywarp bio
Skywarp is the sneakiest of the Decepticons. On Cybertron he was known to appear out of nowhere in the middle of peaceful Autobot villages to rain terror and destruction upon them, if the mood hit him. He'll even use his teleportation powers to play a prank on a fellow Decepticon. Everyone enjoys this except the butt of his joke since Skywarp's sense of humor tends to be rather cruel and physically abusive. Skywarp isn't too smart and would be totally useless without the supervision of Megatron.

Dreadwing bio
DREADWING isn't terribly intelligent, so no one's certain where he got the teleportation technology that allows him to warp up to two and a half miles instantly. He sure didn't invent it and no one else has it, so he must have stolen it, which makes sense. He is, after all, a born thief. Sneaky and greedy, he pranks and steals from his fellow DECEPTICONS as often as the AUTOBOTS. No one likes him, so he spends most of his time alone, plotting grand schemes and spiking other robots' gas tanks with sugar.

~They both can teleport
~They are both cruel tricksters
~They both play tricks on fellow Decepticons
~They are both said to be rather unintelligent
~They ae both sneaky

They both are jets and they both have the black and purple on them.

I don't think this is too wild a guess to say that Hasbro has already released a character like Skywarp. Even if it's a rather inferior version. I'm afraid that they won't release Skywarp as a repaint of Starscream if this is true. Has anyone else noticed this? What do you think?

I think it SUCKS, if he's meant to be Skywarp why take his name away?

But an updated bio wouldn't be so bad if they do decide to make him. One where he doesn't have a retarded intelligence level. It takes brains to be a good prankster.

Oh, and if he were meant to be Skywarp he would need a head that doesn't look like someone glued a video camera to his shoulders.

When I read the title, "An Odd Connection Between G1 Skywarp and Movie Dreadwing" I half way expected to read how G1 Skywarp's mom was in the same Girl Scout Troop as Movie Dreadwing's Aunt or something else weird like that.

I too thought of Skywarp when reading Dreadwing's bio. It's also fair to say that both of Dreadwing's modes have more in common with G1 Seekers than Movie Starscream has.

I too would like to know why they gave those camera heads to some of the movie Decepticons. At first I thought they were drones, but I don't see any evidance of that in thier bios. It's almost like Hasbro wanted us to dislike him.

Poor pseudo-Skywarp deserves more than that!

Give him a proper head, and make him black with Purple highlights, and I would snap up a Dreadwing repainted Skywarp in a nanosecond.

Same goes for the Movie Starscream Toy I dislike so much.
Awesomesauce; Use it, you know you want to.

I hope Skywarp can do a better job at playing dumb than Starscream can at playing loyalist because Starscream sure does a lousy job at not trying to backstab and overthrow Megatron.

well the G-1 toy's bio is not very accurate to the TV show, Skywarp exhibited alot of intelligence and he was very loyal to megatron..I rather thought that Skywarp had his own agenda and played the supportive seeker role very very well.. whilst megatron was busy scolding Starscream and watching his Back, Skywarp would be doing side projects like stealing and selling on the Cybertronian Black Markets..
