Postby ptitvite » Mon Jul 16, 2007 7:34 pm

Finished this today.
Pics are bad but can't seem to get any better.
Small painted black and silver details don't show much but in person, this guy kicks a$$!

It might be a KO... isn't Sludge bigger than that? I haven't had him out in ages.

Either way, brilliant job. 8)

That's an original 80's Sludge. I actually made him taller. He is as tall as Classics Grimlock. Thanks!

Dang, now that is very well done. I would have made the dino head swivel at the very least though.

Thanks
The dino head is a joke to make swivel. I just did'nt see the purpose of doing that.

I s'pose theoretically it could be made to have a couple of ball joints along its length, sort of like TM Megatron's tail. But it'd be a devil of a job (unless, perhaps, said tail could be used as a base..?).

It would make the dino mode more poseable. The robot mode really kicks ass, but the dino-mode is only slightly better than the unmodified toy. A segmented tail from TM Megatron or Classics Grimlock would have made a cool neck I think, though I suppose it might clash with the rest of the design.

amazingly well done. I especially love the inside of the upper arms. So where did the extra ball joints come from? And the waist? And whats the deal with the spring? I don't have sludge to compare to btw.

hey thank!
Shoulder & elbow ball joints come from classics Bumblebee.
Waist is from energon Sledge.
The spring is to allow the extension of the legs so he can transform in dino mode.

Dang! Now that is freakin' creative. I've customized figures with legs that transform the same way as Sludge's and I've usually just rounded down the heals. That makes for a loss in balance of and messier design, but you've come up with a fantastic way around that issue.

Thanks Dev. I do realize it does'nt look like a professional job but it was my first attempt at this kind of mod. Anyways, it works fine and you don't see it when its assembled.

You did a great job and you managed to use minimal paint apps. You masked the joints pretty well too. Also, don't worry about making something look professional. My stuff doesn't look professional but that doesn't mean the figures I've created don't kick ass.

Just for the record, I do think my stuff kicks ass even considering the flaws :)

Hey, I managed to take the remaining parts and I got a broken Sludge on ebay, I now have 2 Sludge so take a look to compare if you don't have one in hand.
