Megatron was actually the first Transformer I ever got in early 1984. He pretty much got put through the ringer over the years.

Nothing better than stalking my gf and shooting her with Megs.

The Encore Megatron is an amazing figure to display boxed. Far superior to the TFC-06 release, imo.

Mostly because you can see the figure when displayed in the box. Unless you have space to display the TFC-06 Megatron with the "book" opened, you're just left staring at some junk Pat Lee art while the figure sits hidden inside.

Nah, I agree that the encore does display better.

I have one of each of the Encores released so far unopened on display. There is something about those G1 style boxes that looks awesome.

I do like the TFC boxes also as they stack well and sit well on a shelf, no you cant see the figures but it protects them from the light.

This is one time that you and I are in complete agreement. The Encore line (and the original reissue of Megatron) look so much better than the book packaging. And yes, Lee's art is pure junk.

Yeah, that's how I feel too. When the figs aren't being displayed, they are in their box. The TFC and the Hasbro re-issues stay closed and no light can damage them. Also, I keep Encore OP in the box he was shipped in. You don't know what's inside the box until you open him.

the artwork on the front of megatron collection looks pretty good to me, why are some seeing it as 'junk'? maybe its the cookie cutter aspect 'here, draw a picture for the next collection set', anyway im curious.

I agree with the other posters on this point. The Encore packaging with the retro G1 appeal really does something for me. I have put them right alongside my original G1 collection and they look great side by side.

Thats why I never bought any of the TFC because I dont like the way they display MISB, so to me Encore is a godsend because they display so beautifully and nothing can beat the original gen 1 box art, not even pat lee.

All's fair in love and war! My girlfriend is more likely to run around shooting it at me...I'm too afraid of losing the bullets. Consequently I only detached one of them from its tree, and had to pry the toy from her hands 20 minutes after I showed her it could shoot.

Encore Megs is a great toy. I know a lot of people complain about his bot mode but this figure shines in his gun mode. He looks badass with all the attachments on and is far and away better looking in gun mode than MP Megs.

and displayed in the box, he is! i had every intention on opening him and playing with him a bit before i display but when it showed up i just couldnt bring myself to break the seal on that glorious box!

I don't know if I'm gonna get Encore Megs. I already have a boxed G1 Megs, so I don't think I need another...just make sure you get an Upgrade Set from Reprolabels, the only thing better than G1 Megatron is a TV accurate G1 Megatron!

He's quite a nice piece in my collection.

I agree the same goes for Optimus Prime. Mp Optimus - bot mode Encore Optimus - truck with trailer mode Mp Starscream both modes are better than encore Starscream but it's fragile as heck like Mp Megatron.
