I'm trying to get the music from my CDs onto a mini SD for my new Music Label Soundwave to play. So far I've been able to get them converted into MP3s, but when I drag them onto the card, it won't let me b/c it's protected. I know there are piracy laws, so I can understand it being protected. But come on! How the hell are you supposed to get songs on any MP3 player if they're protected? It's bullshit!
Is there a way to move them onto the card without breaking the protection? If not, then how do I break the protection?
How do I "un-protect" my songs?

The RIAA is pure evil. A single demon taking multiple bodies, to run a company dedicated to making people's lives hell.
Kind of like Legion, but the other way around. Instead of one body and a bunch of demons, it's one demon and a bunch of bodies.
It looks like they're trying to put MP3s out of business by making it impossible to use MP3s. That's gotta be it, or they're a LOT dumber than I though.

With a hammer?
Sorry, I don't really have anything that productive to say, have you checked the file properties to see if there's anything there?

You know what? I don't think it's the music that's protected, I think it's the card. My computer is calling it a removable disk, and it's saying the disk is protected whenever I try to move the songs onto it.
And when I check the properties of the songs themselves, it says they are not protected, if I'm reading it correctly.
I just tried formating it, and it says it's write protected. How rediculas is that? What use is a storage device if you can't put anything on it? It's like having a cup that's just solid glass.

Are you sure you haven't got the little slot on the card in the wrong place?
You know, the one that locks it so that nothing further can be written or deleted.

That's what it was. Everytime I put the card in the slot, the tab would move to the protected position. Too much dust or something. So I tried it on another computer and worked like a charm. Now I can listen to "The Touch" on Soundwave. Joy!Burn wrote:Are you sure you haven't got the little slot on the card in the wrong place?

Great. I've heard people complain about the audio quality, but I think really good. Perhaps it depends on what kind of headphones you use. Or on the music you listen to. It probably doesn't have the brain scrabbling base required to listen to crap.
