By all accounts, the tank in the movie was suppose to be named Brawl. Devastator was a cover name which accidentally got left in.

Devastator holds such a place of reverence in Transformers being the first and best designed combiner. I was looking forward to seeing the true Devastator in a squeal, but now they'd used the name (they also used Bonecrusher which was one of the Constructicons). They'll have to use a different name now and it just won't be the same.

I agree, this really bothered me. They keep saying they want to use the Constructicons in the sequel but I don't know how they're going to explain it.

But, if Devastator is in TF2, I'm sure most people will've forgotten.
