Maximal Primal wrote:Your an absolute Genius Skywarp-2! That Razorback and Crazybolt are awesome, who knew that Takara Tomy had released so many sweet molds for their Beast Was Neo line up! I love them! I am sick and tired of playing second fiddle to Japan and their toy market, here in the U.S. we don't do anything as near as cool as they do with their toys! I mean the packaging in our stores are always bubbles which get's severely destroyed when in storage. The excessive Twistie Ties because of corporate greed, disguised as protection for the toy. The poor choice of art work and absense of Tech Specs on some releases. it's a fricken Nightmare!
Hasbro should really up the anty and give us these Comic Packs. That would be a start in changing the U.S. toy market to become a more global and competative collection. I know alot of friends of mine here who only go to stores which sell imports. they avoid the Mass retail chains like the plague. I must say even I was greatly disappointed by the offerings in pacakges the movie toys were released in. Hasbro's packaging has serious issues, and should be redesigned across the entire Transformers line. Generation One toys even had better packaging, considering they were in boxes as aposed to Bubble packaging.
If they do the packaging right, then I can see this series of Comic Packs becoming the next big thing, even bigger then Marvel Legends has been, as long as they do it right. I don't have much faith that even if Hasbro got their butts in gear and decided to do these packages, like you have suggested Skywarp-2, they would get it right. I don't have much hope that Hasbro has the gumption to pull it off, and to be successful at it as well. I'm not downing the concept, just the manufacturer's ability to produce, which we know from the past has always been hit or miss.
Still, I challenge Hasbro to make a go of it! I want to see if they are capable of even pulling it off and making collector's happy at the same time as producing something that could be marketed in the mass retail circuit.
Maximal Primal wrote:But most of their toys come in bubble packaging, which means if your trying to look at the comic, you either have to rip the bubble off or cut it open with scissors like the Marvel legends packs. Which is really not very collector friendly. I don't see how they think that they are superior in their package marketing?? Mattel's Barbie's have better Boxes then Hasbro's stuff!!

I disagree... the Soundwave commerative box was quite nice and really made for a wonderful release. If that style of box was used with comics on the back side, it would be a real treat!!..

That was a nice box, but all I'm saying dude, is Don't Hold your Breath!!!Hasbro has never been my favorite retailer of toys, atleast not in packaging anyways. I love their products, but the packages they come in are always looking like they were mere after thoughts. I wonder if they even realize that there is a collector's market out there who wants a mass retail release that fits the collector as well as the regular toy consumer?

Hasbro realizes it, but relegates that duty to the Botcon folks, who produce $200.00 toy packs, which nets Hasbro a small profit. Though, I don't understand the concept as much, it's as if they won't do it mass retail because they believe the collector market out there is very small...I know the collector market is not small, and is quite apt at buying multiple numbers of exclusive product in order to upsell the items later at a highly expensive and premium cost! If hasbro was to do collector Comic Packs, they would then be tapping into the collector Market, and still reaching that same kids demographic they want to hit.
All I'm saying is that the IDW/Hasbro Beast Wars or Classics Comic Packs if they were to be released would be a perfect solution to both the collector's and kids...

Trelve wrote:I love the idea but I fear they might find a way to make it an "Exclusive" somehow.
I'm having a hard time finding the comic books myself and this would be twice the bonus.
Of course the packaging will have to include 5 different languages but im sure they'll fit some nice details on... I hope.
(I wouldn't mind another Razorbeast release either.)

well if it was relegated to comic shops only, then we could at least get it through Diamond... I would like to also track the comics down as well, since they are quite hard to find here...

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

craggy wrote:I'm all for a Beast Wars sub-line, maybe as part of Classics 2.0/Universe. There are a lot of characters from the new comic that have good toys but may have been overlooked previously because their characters had no exposure in any other media in the US/UK prior to IDW's mini-series. Of course there are then the ones from the Japanese series, but the likes of Big Convoy (even Lioconvoy, unless they use the Robot Masters version) are too big for comic-packs in the style of the Star Wars or GI Joe ones. That's not to say I rule out the idea of Hasbro doing something like this, and maybe having a versus pack of 2 basic sized toys and a comic. If they did though, no reason not to use other lines than just Beast Wars, other than, of course, that is what the majority of people (in this topic at the very least) want.
Comics could be a good pack-in gimmick if Hasbro is wanting to get more people interested in the sub-lines though, as whilst the animated series toyline will have the characters well represented through the TV show, the Universe line will appear to be randomly selected characters. A few well chosen comics and kids who are picking these up after having gotten into TFs via the movie, will have a better grasp on the character, and maybe be more eager to get more.

aw rats! i had a hunch he would be small, but...
well, as long as he's still larger than a basic-seized fig, it's fine with me.

I assumed that RM Lio Convoy was deluxe in size.
I'd be happy with anything thats not a repaint of Leobreaker.
