Re: iGear ConAir Coneheads
What are the extra heads? And how would they look on the Masterpiece scale iGear Coneheads? I never liked the heads that came with those and these look better and from the one comparison pic I've seen, look like they wouldn't be TOO small.

I suddenly don't like the mix of cone-head and traditional seeker head. The "ear" vents do not belong on the coneheads. I wonder why I didn't notice that before...

I didn't notice that before, but now that you point it out, that is kind of strange. It doesn't tank these for me. But it is annoying.
I also wish they would have invested in different face sculpts for each one.

Yeah the same face sculpts is a little disappointing . The earlier picture of Ramjet with the smirk on his face injected a lot of character into the figure , each one should of had a different expression .

I do find these to be almost G1 toy like in the underkibble. Couldn't they have better incorporated the chest vents into the engine intakes? These are voyagers, after all...

It's a combination of the face sculpt, lighting, and camera angle. I used to think ToyWorld's Hegemon had a 5 o'clock shadow based on photos; thankfully I was proven wrong by the physical product in my hands.

You really cant win with scale when it comes to seekers. You either have the robot mode in scale with other bots or the jet mode in scale with other earth vehicles. You cant have both. For me personally, I prefer the bot mode to be in scale with other bots on my shelf including autobots. i wouldnt want them towering over everyone just because jets are bigger than cars. That was one thing the G1 cartoon animators made the right call in my opinion.

So you want that these Igear conair seekers to be deluxe scale? Because at the Voyager scale they are too big & oversized in robot mode?

What are you talking about here? The 1984-1985 seekers in robot modes. were always shown much bigger than the bigger cars-bots in the G-1 cartoon series.

HasTak got the 1.0 seekers toy scale wrong. they needed to be Voyager size not deluxe scale. Having 1984-1985 seekers & bigger cars-bots the same toy scale for classics generations is wrong.

The main reasons the 1.0 seekers were deluxe scale toys. Was because HasTak's toy budget at the time was low. Also Deluxes TF toys are Hasbro's biggest sellers.

HasTak is attempting to correct the classics generations toy scale for the 2013-2014 years. I suspect around 2015,We'll see a Voyager scale seeker toy for Generations.

Most on-line TF fans have acknowledged that a lot of the Classics Generations toys were made at the wrong toy scale. Most welcome HasTak's attempts to correct the classics generations toy scale in 2013-2015.

These are IDW TF comics seekers 3rd party toys. In the IDW TF comics these seekers in this particular art design are always shown much bigger in robot modes compared to the bigger autobots cars-bots in the IDW TF comics.

You must not watch too much G1 episodes. There were plenty of head on battles where autobots were the same height as the seekers. If we went by scale of earth vehicles, the autobots would get their ass kicked every time Because tanks and planes are always bigger than cars. So it makes sense for the robots to be more or less the same height. I get it. You like G1 toy scale. You like mini bots that are as high as Primes knees, even though a VW beetle isnt much smaller than a Lamborghini or a Porsche. Not me, I care more about the robots scaling with each other. It just looks Better when they can stare each other down eye to eye.

Yes, I meant to say congrats before too! I'll be married for 17 years this summer. The only advice I have for you it to keep talking. The only troubles I ever ran into was when my wife and I were not talking for whatever reason.
Post off-topic, un-asked-for-advice-that-we-all-give-anyway...

I imagine that the original Classics seekers were deluxe to sell to kids. Maybe we get some Voyager seekers out of Has/Tak. I didn't think we'd get a leader Jetfire that was fairly Skyfire accurate, at least in bot mode, but I was wrong about that. So I could be wrong about this.
At any rate, while I like the plane modes for the most part, I think SkyWarpsGhost has a point on the lack of paint on the underside of Dirge. And those that bring up cost have a great point too. I don't like these enough to change out my current seekers. Too many small things bug me. These'd have to be perfect and be a little cheaper, which is pretty much an impossible dream.

I know it's pointless to ask, but it would be nice not to have to start yet another scale debate with Rated X and his hazy memory of a cartoon that was prone to major inaccuracies and inconsistencies from one episode to the next(especially from season 2 onwards)
Keeping to the topic at hand, the regular seekers already turned me off with the proportionally skinny arms, giant shins, and long chins, so add to that everything that makes a conehead even uglier and I wouldn't give these a second thought, even if the price was remotely decent.

Re: iGear ConAir Coneheads
On scale, most of the Decepticons are undersized, especially compared to Hegemon. Decepticon scale is so massed up and recent offerings like Blitzwing don't help matters. Your best bet is to get a group that looks good together in your own eyes. After all, you're the one ending up looking at 'em. Size is the main draw for these guys because Hegemon dwarfs my cons more than he really should. Kinda makes me want to switch to Henkei Megs (which I have), but those wings of his makes him impossible to display.
The look is really my main point of contention with these guys. If they were G1 looking, I don't think I'd hesitate.

First of all I dont even see these as voyager scale. They are clearly MP scale. Wasnt there a picture way back of the prototype standing next to MP sideswipe ? So how would that make it voyager ? Maybe if you believe in sacraficing robot scale because planes are bigger than cars. But Im not into that Michael Bay concept where transformers cant grow or shrink during transformation. We all accept soundwave, blaster, Megatron, and reflector shrinking for their alt modes. So why does everyone keep complaining that the seekers should be voyager ? Do you really want them to be the same height as Prime ? Do you really want them to dwarf the autobots finest warriors like ironhide and jazz ? Really they werent that big in the cartoon...
