The bumblebee quandary

Postby bass_man9027 » Wed Aug 13, 2014 8:30 am

Hello everyone,

My wife has been hounding me to sell some transformers and one in particular made me raise an eyebrow when I looked at the avg eBay selling price.

Costco battle ops bubblebee selling for $199-$250, when it came out I remember people saying "ugh not another bee".

Mine is in box, (I did take it out because let's face it, it's a transformer) but I am a master re-packer, and it is "like new"

My question is: what is your opinion, would you sell it now or hang on to it? and why?

I find it very hard to part with my transformers or anything connected to my childhood that I have a fond memory of. I don't get to display my transformers because my wife gets irritated with them because they don't go with the decor of the apartment (one bedroom). It's anyone else in a similar situation, if so how do you handle it?

Alright, enough rambling, I am curious as to what you think.

Sell it.

Is this really connected to your childhood? I think not. If it were, you wouldn't be asking the question to begin with.

Sell it. Sell it like the Transformers whore that you are.

PS. What you did last night was amazing...

Are we to assume that getting rid of the wife isn't an option? ;)

I am afraid you are correct, in any case I suppose selling it wouldn't be that bad, not like selling a masterpiece or one of my beast wars figures.

Its a tough call, and honestly I can't recommend one choice over the other with a clear conscience. What I can tell you though is that if you do decide to sell be prepared to take less than you originally expected. EBay prices should never, ever be used as a gauge as 9 times out of 10 they're hugely inflated by hopeful (read: greedy) sellers. And some people will try to haggle or play the buddy card
The resident Rewind... well, half of one
