I hope I spelled the title right.
anyway, recently picked up G1 Kickback (complete) but when I cehecked his copyrights, all I saw was "c Takara 1980, 1983." Is it a takara or were all kickbacks like this.
Also, I was debating this, but, should this go in ask the
x-perts?

No way. Ask no one. Kickback, the other Insecticons, the Dinobots, most of the season 1 G1 toys and such were Diaclone toys first, which predates the actual 'Transformers' toys by a couple years. If you look at the G1 Seekers, they have that 1980 Takara stamp as well. It is literally credit where credit is due.

This is true, Dagon, but once released by hasbro under the Transformers brand, even the figures originally released in Diaclone and Microchange got stamped with a Hasbro copyright, which Sherade is saying is absent from this particular Kickback, therefore making the question: Is it a Takara release, or were they just all like this?
Sadly I don't know the correct answer, though I'm hoping someone will.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

Can't be, unless, it was a mix up where it gained a rub sign.
Anyway, it's only my sevetnth G1, so I don't know about copyrights. And Dagon, I have grimlock, and he HAS a Hasbro copyright. I know about Diaclone as well. I ain't think as you stupid I am.

I want to say he's a Japanese release, but did Japan ever use the LAME, "child-proof" rounded wings?
I know the Diaclone ones were initially sharp at the tips and good looking.
Are yours sharp or rounded like in that stock picture?
(Maybe they used American molds when repainting them in G1 colors?)

I'm thinking that's normal, and isn't from Japan.
I looked at my G1 Bombshell and it said the exact same thing(takara, 1980-83); and I'm pretty sure he was bought in the states(wasn't the original owner, but I don't think the original one ever travelled to Japan).
Hardly definitive, but it's a step towards an answer.

I have an american kickback. he drinks beer, watches football, doesn't care about what's going on in the rest of the world and has an honest to goodness HASBRO stamp baby.

As I remember the good old days, those Insecticons were sold EVERYWHERE.
And long after waves they were released in were gone, there never seemed to be a lack of them still on the shelves. These puppies appeared to be mass-produced.
So it could just be that Hasbro was grabbing parts from anywhere to satisfy their demand (a neat little in-between kind of price point).
[/assumption]
