Transformers War for Cybertron: Siege Discussion Thread
Re: Transformers War for Cybertron: Siege Discussion Thread
So did Siege Ratbat come out and I just missed him? I was able to get the Battle Patrol at local retail, but I haven't seen these cassettes anywhere, and online retailer orders are sold out everywhere.
Edit: I also don't know why they weren't available from Hasbro Pulse when most other MMs were.

Mechafan problems, am I right?
I still think someone ought to make some Weaponizer (or POTP Leader Evolution figures) stop motions with Brave sound effects. POTP Rodimus's transformation seems pretty Brave-ish too.

I missed those two as well. I'm not sure how wide spread their release was. I've checked the sightings section and there isn't very many. Now all the online orders are sold out.AcademyofDrX wrote:So did Siege Ratbat come out and I just missed him? I want Ratbat, but I'm worried we won't see a Frenzy. Without a blue guy and a red guy, I won't be too sad I missed out though.

I did see and snag Ratbat and Rumble at Target, they are probably going to be your best bet, but the recent Earthrise sightings for the micromasters is a bit worrying that they might have made their appearance and are done.
I really only got them for Ratbat (and the previous set for Laserbeak), so I'm okay if we never see a Frenzy. I just don't like how tiny Rumble and Ravage ended up being as micromasters and prefer the Titans Return molds, even with their flaws over these little guys simply for my preferred bot-mode size.

I'm trying to hold off on eBay prices for the time being. My panic was prompted by the Earthrise sightings, but I'm not sure that's as big a deal as I feared. If they all have the same inventory number, them some stores may be cycling through stock faster than others. The Botbot series 4 blind boxes were sighted long before most Targets had series 3, but they still came in. My gut is telling me to be patient, which is easier said than done.

I have not seen Rung in stores yet, and only saw a single Singe (got both from a friend). Only saw a single set of each micro team too.
They are coming in and then going very fast. It might depend solely on the day you go if you find them

I guess I lucked out when I got both Singe and Rung at a Target around Christmas time. That said, you can find listings for those all over eBay; even if they're selling out at retail, the secondary market is brimming with them. By contrast, Ratbat and Frenzy are very rare. I only found a single domestic listing, and it's asking almost four times the retail price. I think the distribution for Ratbat is far behind the Battle Masters.

Transformers War for Cybertron: Siege Spinister Concept Art
- Weapon: Vibro-Axe
Thanks to artist and friend of Seibertron Ken Christiansen, we have an interesting look at concept art for one of the final Deluxes for the Siege line, Spinister! Ken has been kind enough to show us his drawings for the figure, and you can see that a few things have changed between concept and plastic, the lower legs especially, as Ken notes.

Please click on either of the pictures to be taken to Ken's full post, including more concept art and final figure shots, and let us know what you think below!

Re: Transformers War for Cybertron: Siege Discussion Thread
It looks so close to the final product other than the cockpit is missing a side. Were they going to try and clip the two legs together or nest? Seems unlikely as all the other parts are present and the transformation might have been the same as it is on the final product. Still very interesting stuff.
Also, can anyone with a FB account post the rest of the pics here? I tried to follow the link but got caught in a not logged in loop. Thanks

Awesome hanks, I could only see a flash before the log in popups and prompts (never seen FB so aggressive before), but saw a +3.aronjlove wrote:This is the only other "blueprint" style image.
After seeing the alt mode sketch, I have to assume the bot mode was just off/wrong/incomplete. Makes me want to print them off and bust out the color pencils.

To me it looks like they were going for a split cockpit with both legs mashed together for copter mode. That would have actually worked with the current upper torso without having to change much since the other leg with the fake cockpit tucks into the bottom where it is hidden pretty well. Really just adjust the bottom of the tail/torso section to have a finished look on the bottom if both legs were going to be the cockpit. I'm guessing they just couldn't get the proportions to work. I suspect the split cockpit would have ended up with too skinny of legs for a pretty tall bot, or too fat of a cockpit if they increase the leg thickness.

That'd probably be more appropriate for the Earthrise thread.

It is still in stock, online only, but, you need to have a Target RedCard in order to purchase. That might be why you can't complete a purchase. I went through getting a Redcard specifically for this reason when he first came out.
If you plan on getting a Redcard yourself, I would highly recommend applying in-store instead of online. You won't be able to use the card online until it actually arrives, and the in-store application/verification process seems to go quicker than online. On top of that, Target often gives some type of incentive when you apply in-store that they don't give online. In my case it was a $40 off your next purchase coupon, so my Redwing (plus a small gift for my daughter) ended up being free. That deal is no longer going on, but they may have another to make the hassle a little more worth it.

With this restock, what are the chances of returns being found on the shelves again? That's how I got mine without a REDCard

Hmm, maybe try from a computer. That is what I was looking it up from, and it still shows available, and let me at least try to complete an order. I already have one I didn't go any further.

Speaking of things im tempted by, my local walmart has two Soundblasters yet and I am debating if its worth it. Im quite happy with my Titans Return/Bumblebee movie Soundwave, but that different size and black/gold/red color scheme is looking really slick. Is he worth it?
