I Need Some Help Identifying Two Transformers

Postby Cthulhunicron » Thu Jul 19, 2007 7:04 am

The first one is a Decepticon jet of some sort. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of it at the moment. I found when I was digging through a box of old toys at my house. It's blue and black and it has what appears to be a chair or seat behind the canopy for the cockpit. The seat is quite large in comparison to the cockpit, as though some large being or robot is supposed to go there. The toy was made in 1989 and is approximately 5 inches long.

The second one is clearly Grimlock. However, he is in robot mode and I can't find anyway to transform him into anything. His arms move up and down and his legs move back and forth, but there are no other moving parts. He stands about 3-4 inches tall and was made in 1989.

Is this the jet?

It's grey and purple. The Powermaster engine goes into the spring loaded area behind the cockpit.

I'm trying to load Transformer Instruction archive and currently, the page won't load. You may have Pretenders Grimlock.

Edit: I found this of Pretender Grimlock.

Also, as used in the previous post.

Is a great resource. You can identify X-formers on the left hand side.

Maybe you have some action master figures? I'm sure your Grimlock is but I'm not to sure about the jet.
Here's a scan of an old catalogue, can you identify if your toys are here?

The jet sounds like Starscream's jet from the Action Master line. If it is, then the cockpit is for Action Master Starscream...of course. :)

Okay, so I have an action-master Grimlock...that explains what the orange and grey weapon was that was in my box.

No, the jet's definitely not Darkwing (Hydra). It's black and blue, not grey and purple. There is some kind of spring loaded launcher in the back; a switch can be tripped on the side, directly below the seat, and a piece in the back that consists of two fins and two exhaust ports flips up. Also, below that section are two wings, each carrying two missiles. The missiles aren't removable, they're fused to the wings.

The jet also has two wheels in the back. The blue wings can be folded up and down.

Did you look at the link I posted? Did you compare your jet to any of the ones featured in it?
