I know that I kind-of suck at making custom figures, but I want to try my hand at doing another figure.
I've got Delphinia on the back burner due to lack of a material that casts clear.
So, I was thinking that maybe I could do another figure in the meantime. If anyone is against this, please let me know. It's nothing final yet; just an idea.
I was thinking of naming him Merceron, and have him be a Vok emissary made from a Tigerhawk figure (ironically). I have many ideas for him, and I would like to try this toy (even if he's not in the comic).
Tell me what you think. In the meantime (tonight), I'm going to start on it. I'll post WIP pics if I have them ready in the morning. Thanks,
How thick of a clear piece do you need. If you go to a hobby shop (I know thay have some at the hobby town near me (they don't have styrene sheets but they have this). It's a modeling glue that dries clear. it's in a hexshaped black bottle, sorry can't remember the name, but the bottle says it can be used to make windows for example. So if you can mold what you need a part of you can possibly fill the mold with that.
that or just go to hobbylobby and buy a thin sheet of plexy.

It would be to make a new extended and reshaped windshield for Einia (Energon Inferno). I hope that gives you an idea of how big it is.

Yes, that's exactly what I was thinking. I mean, I read that great comic storyline, and thought that maybe there should be a Vok emissary like in the Beast Wars. I happened to have a spare Tigerhawk figure that I bought at Saver's for $2.00 US (missing weapons though), and thought that I could use him.
Pepie wrote:promising! But please mind >> no beast figures!![]()
I actually was going to make him convert into some kind of weapon actually. I posted new WIP pics of what I've done to Merceron so far. Take a look.

Sounds good to me too, as long as fits Ra's story; one thing though, as Pepie said we are not allowing organic beast, only mechanical ones, ?isn't Tigerhawk organic?

Oh, I thought you needed some more complex shapes; for a new windshield, just get some colored CD boxes, I made the new windshield for Whirlwind out of that stuff (look at the last WIP pics I posted some time ago). You need to be always looking for stuff that you can use in this kind of hobby, I think apart from some paints, I've never bought any othe material from a proper Hobby Store.

If you want to keep the tiger alt mode but make it look all mechanical, use the foam bit piece that comes with your dremel tool. it's meant for polishing metal but will also kind smelt it's way through plastic. if your carful you can use it to create sevral flat surfaces where the hair is and then just snad it smooth if neccessary. then paint it ofcourse.
I sure there is a better way of doing this. if someone else knows it please speek up.

You know, I never thought about using CD cases before, but now that you mention it, it just might work

Thank you all for your suggestions, but I think what I'm going to do is give him a cyber-beast mode, and a vehicle mode. I was going to buy a jet cockpit and modify it and attach it to the beast head (in some fashion). I'll post new WIP pics in the morning if I have them. Thanks,

This is probably a stupid question (and way off topic, so sorry guys) but I figured I'd bring it up anyways. Any chance that the different factions would have JUST two different optic colors, like in the g1 cartoon? It probably doesn't make much sense, seeing as how the one faction split off from the main one and thus, they were all the same "group" prior, but I didn't know if you would want a "bad guy" eye color and "good guy" one. Dunno if this would make it any more visually apealing in the comic, that or add some more group unity. *shrugs* Just a thought.

Actually, it seems that I'm the one who always has new posts in these topics, and it's good to talk about something else for a change.
I, personally, like that idea. Maybe the Reformers could be the ones who changed their optic colors as a act of defiance or something.

Hee, well I'm glad someone likes the idea. So what colors would be appropriate? I assume we WOULDN'T use the Autobot-blue and Decepticon-red?

Well, I myself was thinking the Machine could be purple (deep, somber, and controling yet not evil), and the Reformers could be White (signifying a new beginning, a blank canvas with endless possibilities). These are ideas only, so tell me what you think.
Also, Assey (hee-hee), I'm going to be e-mailing you in a minute with a proposition that has nothing to do with Transtopia (oops, left out a word. It's changed now)(which is why I'm not asking you here).
Thanks,

I may have a different idea. The regular Transtopians can have yellow optics, including the Machine. Remember: The one species ideal of Eternus, with no indication of their past. The Reformers want to get their past back, so they could have red and blue optics, based on their memories or what they think they were.

I like the colored eyes idea, specially Ra's version, it makes more sense.

Yeah, let's go with Ra's. It does make a lot more sense.

O.K. Dumb Question Time:
Since Delphinia is a Spy, should her eyes be yellow like the rest of the Machine, or red/blue to fit in with the Reformers? What do you guys think?

I just don't know if we should go ahead with this yellow eyes idea, there are at least two Machine characters with red eyes that are finished; I'd say lets forget this idea, is cool, but it came up too late, what do you guys think?

Hmmm....
I like that idea, Ra. It's really good, and then we don't have to throw out Assey's idea. Good work!
Merceron's eyes are already red, but I may repaint them green. I'm contimplating that, because Iskander says that his face paint is really rough (my silver was getting old and clumpy and I didn't notice). So, I may repaint his face. Do you think I should?
Delphinia's is up in the air, too. Maybe I'll do both red and blue. Who knows?
Thanks, and let me know what you think.

Shuriken already has red eyes. They would be blue according to this theory and I can't see that working with the rest of her colouring. Personally I always thought the cartoon's eye colours were a bad idea (particularly when they made Skyfire's defection an obvious predetermined event). People have differnet eye colours and means nothing - there's no reason why TFs shouldn't be the same.

Alright. How about going for the "Transtopians-Yellow optics" idea with only the Machines having the honor to choose their own optic-colors? Then it could tick them off that the Reformers are defying this 'tradition' by choosing what color they want as well.
