READY TO ROLL WITH THE BIG BOYS?
Well, here’s your chance to prove it.
Liam Shalloo, Transformers colorist is prepping for the convention season and is looking for assistance in beefing up his portfolio. So, he and the crew of Transformers: Mosaic (Josh van Reyk & Shaun Knowler) are running a small competition which gives artist the chance submit a piece of work of their own creation for a chance to have Liam color the piece and use it as the lead piece in his portfolio.
All interested artist will have the entire month of May, 2008 to produce and submit their entry. Once all entries are submitted, Liam Shalloo, Josh van Reyk & Shaun Knowler will evaluate them all and select and critique the top three, with Liam utilizing the first place entry. Once judging is complete, all entries will displayed on the IDW forums.
So, what do we need?
Liam is looking for something similar to Don Figueroa’s famous
“Metroplex vs Tripticon” Lithograph, except he would prefer “Tidal Wave vs Broadside.”
The fine print:
1. Art should be designed as a “pin-up.”
2. Completed pieces must be returned to
Transformers.mosaic@gmail.com, no latter then 6:00pm Australian Eastern Standard Time, 31st of May, 2008.
3. Final submitted pieces must be sized to approximately 2000 x 3000 pixels, with a resolution of 72 Dpi, and in RGB mode. (scanner permitting)
4. Images must be in .jpg format
5. Files are to have the following naming convention; Entrant name - Character. I.E. “Richter – Tidal Wave vs Broadside.jpg”
6. You can add text to the piece.
7. Finished pieces are to be inked, with shading allowed.
8. Pictures ARE NOT to be displayed anywhere until they have been posted on the IDW forums. After this, you are free to pimp your work anywhere you like.
9. Coloured images are not to be displayed until competition is over.
10. Collaborations are permitted, but only for the “inking” process. Any assistance must be identified.
