Nice. I bought the legit version when it was first released, but for the way prices are now this is probably the route I'd go too. As far as I can tell the only major difference is the blue axe follows the original release of the mold, as the AD one is silver chrome. Can't go wrong thoughitscramtastic wrote:I'm thinking it's this guy, which looks promising!!shajaki wrote:I'll be interested to see thatitscramtastic wrote:Dang it! It's been a good couple days
A3U has finally decided to make themselves useful for us Canadians. They are mainly a Transformers store, operating in Canada, but dealing in USD, and offered no shipping breaks within Canada. The later of which is about the ONLY good thing I have to say about TFsource, is if you're American it's a great thing to take advantage of the shipping breaks they have.
If no one heard, A3U launched a dot CA site last week, with a nice little sale, and now deal in CAD. The prices remain pretty much unchanged, but they now offer shipping breaks to Canadian residents! So I bought a UW Baldigus, Ipad Soundwave, and some MP nick-nacks, and it was shipped for free. It arrived in less than a week and nicely packaged.
And (unfortunately) I also get to put their customer service to the test too. Mr.Helicopter came out of the box with some scary bad stress marks on his elbow joint that will absolutely eventually break, so I'll keep y'all informed as to how they do.

Then arriving from eBizzle is TFCC Tarantulas. The Darksyde grows stronger my friends....

You even track down a toy you wanted, and immediately after getting it in hand you say to yourself "what the hell took me so long??"

By golly goshdigus! That Baldigus is beautimus!
Bummer about the elbow.
Hope the CS is up to the test.
A3U has always seemed a lil skeetchdigus to me. Why would they operate the way they had for so long? I mean, it's cool they finally wised up to service their own community, but what took so long?
At BotCon, the final hours, Va'al, Cary, and I were at the A3U table and those two totally enabletroned me to grab Iron Factory Magnus at a decent discount. ( I didn't mind the push. We bondigused over it.
) But, when I opened Mags I discovered he had two left hands. I'm pretty convinced A3U knew of the defect. It was why he was discounted(probs a return), and they had no intentions of pointing it out.
Sketch City? Maybe. Time will tell.

I dunno dude. Probably just all about crunching the numbers. Some Canadians probably thought it was worthwhile before simply to have there stuff simply shipped within Canada since customs is such a pain lately, but I never bought out of sheer bitternessCobotron wrote:A3U has always seemed a lil skeetchdigus to me. They should have absolutely been transparent about it, but wasn't it a widespread defect? Still kinda greasy if they knew though, definitelyCobotron wrote:I'm pretty convinced A3U knew of the defect. It was why he was discounted(probs a return), and they had no intentions of pointing it out.

I opened up my MIpad Soundwave last night. What a neat dude. The engineering is pretty inspired, but he has some limitations in posing. But really, with what he's able to achieve its forgivable. My only two points of contention are he can't move his head, and "Lazerbeak". He literally has no head. One more piece of plastic and he'd have been serviceable. But luckily you can plug him in on SW's back and ignore him.
I only paid 40 CAD for him, so no ragrets. I'd recommend him even for slightly more (if this is your kinda thing).

I do find random listings for robot & shell for $20; it's always the accessories that are random, for inclusion or available individually.
The thought of paying $20+ for a little gun, though? That just grinds my gears....but I'll just keep searching for the right price.

Now I want one of those double-Pretenders: Roadblock! I have not seen him complete for less than $100 - and his mini-self does not seem readily available.

First things first: that Baldigus is really awesome looking! That combiner is really a beaut and I think it works out better than Bruticus did!
I would talk to the forum admin from down under. Burn hooked me up with a complete Skullgrin and mostly complete Waverider for a really good price, and that takes into consideration the AU to US shipping! Now while I am sure he doesn't have another Skullgrin at the moment, he is a Pretender lover, so give him a shout

Cobo kinda nailed it. But Sure I'll expandIronhidensh wrote:A question for the master of the toy shack: should I get regular UW Bruticus, or Baldigus?

If you're asking, rather than jumping straight to one, then you must be content with either. So if you have no particular desire to go all G1, I say go for the best bang/buck scenario: Baldy. He has a sweet deco, has weapons times 2(!), doesn't require hand/feet upgrades, will have better re-sell value, and if you're like me you just gravitate towards strange niche characters anyways. I've always thought the black upside down G2 Bot insignia was weird and badass.
Although.... speaking of niche.... I still think I like G2icus the most

BBTS haul continued! Fort Max upgrades!

So. These kits, generally speaking, are terrific and worth the money. The gun I feel is a must have (which shoulda been provided by HasTak themselves..
) and not terribly expensive(?) as I recall. The DK set, while great, I bought for just the stomach(?) guns. Though I installed the hands (which are awesomely solid) I didn't feel I needed at first. But y'know, it's little details like the pop up fist guns that help make this guy just a little more Fort Max'y which I now appreciate. However I did not install the Cerebros feet add-ons. Anyways, have a look!

It's criminal what Hasbro left out of him. You need at least one of them (either gun or sword) and PE's sword is pretty awesome. Almost makes me wanna toss my Hastak sword and get oneCobotron wrote:Those really do make a huge improvement.
