The Q-Transformers are mass produced, MPs are not. The licencing cost is more spread out and easily made up for the Q-Transformers while a more limited item like the MPs have to charge more to make up for the cost.
If MP Transformers aren't mass produced, I feel even worse about spending all the money I have on the Masterpiece line
I don't understand this sentiment. Why would you feel worse about spending money on an item that is not "mass produced" or, as I assume you mean, rare? Furthermore, Masterpiece figures ARE mass produced. That's how all Transformers toys are made in the factories. That's mass production, period. Yes, the production runs are lower than other toys made for the general consuming public, being that they are geared towards collectors and sold at premium prices, but they are still made altogether in very appreciable quantities at given point in time. Masterpiece figures are not made to order.

Most people will say that this is good enough:

But to me, she ain't g1 accurate enough, and she's too small. She needs to at least be MP car sized.

Eh. I did word that kind of weird. But yeah, I probably should have said "are in a more limited production run". That's what I meant. Toy economics are weird.

Yes you are. My point was that I don't think "most people" think that figure is good enough for a MP like you said. I don't know anyone using the MMC mold in a masterpiece collection.

But she's not MP, obviously.

Guyzz, this is about Masterpiece! For classics she may work fine, but next to MP-10, not so much. If we get an MP car sized Elita-1 (and maybe Firestar, Moonracer, Chromia, Arcee, and the other fembots), then they would scale very well, at least better than that third party one pictured above.

Oh my... I think I'm getting punk'd.
Im still going back and forth with this release. I have him preordered but I may cancel it before release. With the G2 release & regular Bee already in my collection, this guy might be overkill.

New MP-21R Bumble Red Body Image - Cybertron Satellite Stores Limited Edition
- Motto: "I've looked into the eye of this island and what I saw was...beautiful"

Takara Tomy gives us new images of the latest Masterpiece Bumblebee repaint. This image which gives us an idea of how the box will look tells us that MP-21R Bumble Red Body is going to be a Cybertron Satellite Stores Limited Edition and arrives in late December. The image also shows us all the accessories it comes with which includes everything the original came with minus the exo suit.

Seems an odd omission to make, leaving the battle mask out- as this is a representation of one of Bumblebee's original G1 toys, which had the battle mask/faceplate. If it was marketed as a different character I'd understand, but the only other characters who share his altmode are Volks (who's orange) and Glyph (who's blue)
I'd love a MP Glyph out of this. Easy way for Takara to add another fembot to the line at the same time they make more money to justify the mold.

The battle mask didn't come with MP-21. It was an Amazon-exclusive add-on, like MP-12's pointy pile-drivers, MP-17's missile launchers and MP-20's hypnochip lunchbox thing.
Yet people seem to (incorrectly) assume it's an omission or removal (despite not also complaining about the "omission" of MP-21G's jetpack).

Not even that Lil baggie or paper.
It was inside the instruction sheet.

Then it's either a KO or your seller opened it up to slip in the extra Amazon stuff, because packed-in faces come in their own slot in the plastic bubble, not in the instructions.
Add-on bonuses, obviously, do not.

Is the gradient on the transformers logo incorrect on the KO version? My box has the correct logo
Can you tell me differences between KO and official on the figure itself?
And was the coin amazon exclusive?

Coin for Asian release. As for it being a KO, either you got the amazon exclusive version or your vendor was just a nice guy.

Red Bumblebee should have had a regular Bumblebee face and the face shield. It should've been based off the G2 version. Doesn't really make sense to have the regular face. Still a nice exclusive, just an odd choice for the face.

I can only figure that this way TT makes money by not including the mask, and offering it at the same price, or more (I assume)
I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.

Yeah, if you ask me, the only versions of of this mold, both existing and hypothetical ones, that don't really need the battle mask are the regular cartoon-based MP-21 and a hypothetical (if unlikely) Bug Bite release. All others (G-2 Ver., Red Ver., a hypthetical black redeco, a hypothetical Glyph redeco) would need the battle mask since they'd be based on versions of the original battle-masked toy.Seibertron wrote:Hellscream9999 wrote:Seibertron wrote:Red Bumblebee should have had a regular Bumblebee face and the face shield.
