Tidal Wave Question

Postby YRQRM0 » Sun Mar 20, 2011 1:51 am

Can anyone explain to me why in Armada, Tidal wave is mainly purple, while with the toy AND game, and I believe comic, he's that other color scheme with green?

The purple in the cartoon was Tidal Wave's original color scheme, before Hasbro decided to add the green for match him up with Megatron a bit better. The change did not get communicated to the animation company. Luckily enough, Takara's releases were several months later than Hasbro's so Shockwave (Tidal Wave's Japanese name) was colored purple.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

Ya know, originally I hated the color scheme we got, but after seeing it in the game and the comic, I kinda grew to like it more than the cartoon colors.

I have both Armada and Energon Tidal Wave, and I tried out putting Energon's dark gray arms on Armada's body. They went together quite well, as did his green arms with Energon Tidal Wave.

Yeah, after deciding there were already too many purple toys on the shelves at the time, Archer decided to green him up. Personally I'm a fan of the change.

Being a Variant Hunter sucks a bit, I'm interested in the purple Micron Legend Shockwave, but I already have the green Armada Tidal Wave. Where would I put the double? I already have that problem with Cybertron Undermine and Galaxy Force Dino Shout.

One on its own, one combined with Megs/Galvy.
