Yeah but with less trains and more variation in alt modes, most of the characters would be military vehicles and their colors would be like what we have in these concepts where the colors are still there but their not bright or flashy.

The military look these guys have is a consent reminder that the Autobots and Decepticons are soldiers from two army factions who are consistently trying to destroy the other like in the theme song, like imagine them charging at each other and some Humans with the Autobots and some Humans on their own side like say Germany or there is a firefight and all of them are in trenches or cover as bullet and missiles fly across the battlefield kind of like the opening of TLK but without the knights and more guns.


I also really like Halo, Xcom and other sci-fi military stuff so this is right up my alley.

Well, the concept art starts comin' and it don't stop comin'! Originating again from artist Furio Tedeschi's Instagram, we have another look at the early designs for the knight characters for Transformers The Last Knight. Tedeschi captioned the piece with this:

No, those aren't Steampunk, they weren't even Dieselpunk. Cogman was more in-line with the Steampunk aesthetic.

I agree on the point of a WWII based transformers film. There is some awesome potential there for designs, and Hot Rod and Bee both look good with that design

And Bulldog, Edmund's guard though he's a WWI tank rather than WWII. That's already three potential World War military TF toys right there.

So, finally finally saw the Last Knight. And...

Coming hot off the heels of the Red Knight piece reported on earlier today, we now have a gallery's worth of concept art for Transformers The Last Knight, coming from three artists, sent to us by two Seibertronians, Deadput and IAPETUS_PRIME. The first work is of Barricade, from Josh Nizzi's instagram, who does look quite similar to the final version of his character art, but there are some subtle differences, like his head. Here's Josh's caption.

ILM of course referencing the famous effects studio, Industrial Light and Magic.


The next set comes from artist Thomas Pringle, mainly, with some collaboration pieces with Furio Tedeschi. They depict scenery, such as a sunken shark-looking robot, as well as various ships and fuori terra backdrops, as well as a detailed look at Megatron's alt mode. Check the staggering amount of images mirrored below.
