Who still plays with transformers?

There is more to Transformers than movies, cartoons, comics and toys. Discuss anything else Transformers here.

oh I love playing with my TF's at my dad's house because there is absolutely nothing to do around here! I love throwing them up in the air yelling "kaboom!" :P last night the Autobots and Decepticons had to work together to get into this really cool club. I had to stuff them into my little polly pocket limo (which was a hard task because Screamer wouldn't move his fat butt!) It turned out that the Decepticons betrayed them and left the Autobots at a lame party while they got into the club...awesome mision!

I used to love thinking up elaborate stories, and I still kinda do, it's just difficult for me to ever get back into it properly.

I've got a big interest in films, I do hope to direct one day. And so when I play with Transformers I always play as if I was watching a film, with my view as the camera. The thing is, it's difficult to keep the mood in a scene when you need to take a transformer out to transform him, because very few, of course, only take a second to transform.

I have very limited space to play too, I'm not willing to take my Transformers out of my room because I'd have to drag them all back and re-shelf them. So I only have my floor and bed. The bed acts pretty much as the 'stage' upon which all the action takes place.

The last time I played with them, though, was a few years ago, where I developed a story which began very early in the war. Optimus and Megatron (then going by other aliases) were mining (this is before Megatron's Spotlight btw :P) and the mine shaft came under attack by Decepticon seperatists. Megatron escaped the mine, but Prime was buried. A few years later, Prime managed to resurface somehow and found Megatron had taken command of the Decepticons and had pretty much wiped out every Autobot on the planet (Akin to Beast Machines, the worst series with the best concept. Technorganic nonsense excluded). He rounded up groups of Autobot survivors and led some kind of charge on Megatron, kicked his ass and I can't remember what else happened toward the end.

It was pretty basic but I must've been about 14.

Ah the good old days...

Ouch! I try not to throw mine in the air for fear of paint chipping. That is a hilarious story though.

Cool! You should try using your TFs to block out your scenes when you shoot your first film. They would be like a cheap version of animatics.

I wonder if there are any directors that use action figures to direct their actors. The highly articulated ones might actually be pretty good for directing body language.

However, as a kid (up til about 13, when it wasn't "cool" anymore) every single toy I had had a distinct personality, and even dealt with social issues, like disabilities (I had a horse that couldn't stand and was permanently disabled after several "surgeries" and prosthetic attempts) and all my cats and ponies had romances, careers, and a status in society. Had I had TFs back in the day, you bet they'd have been played with. Even my Hot Wheels all had personalities.

Giving them limitations and issues always makes for interesting characters. In my world, Thundercracker is an unprocessed energon addict. Bumblebee is an alcoholic (or the TF equivalent). Addiction is always fun.

I think you should break out your TFs and give playing a try.

My husband is about to go overseas. I might just try...I still have a pretty vivid imagination and remember about 85-90% of my toys' names, which numbered in the hundreds. I'd probably have a great time playing, as long as I don't get in my own way.
