sounded interesting so I did a search, this is what I found:
"As last seen in the Headmasters series, Galvatron was buried alive in the Arctic ice by the Cybertron Headmasters and left there for dead. In a Battlestars story told in the Japanese publication TV Magazine, brought up by Hydra (hydrad304@aol.com) and translated by Doug Dlin (apcog@hotmail.com), he gained a power-up into Super Megatron and finally broke free from the ice, upsetting nearby Eskimos in the process. Dark Nova, a Unicron-like tentacled creature and the supreme villain of the series who probably gave him the power-up, used him to battle the Cybertrons of this series.
Super Megatron initially defeated the Cybertrons, but they later destroyed him, so Dark Nova rebuilt him into another form, Ultra Megatron (52K, series, 11/24/98), which interestingly has treads (like the Generation 2 tank Megatron). Eventually the Cybertrons also defeated him, so Dark Nova merged with him to form Star Giant (80K, series, 11/24/98). His destruction marks the end of the Battlestars series. "
so Dark Nova isn't the merged form, Star Giant is. The page also had pictures... weird.

Beast Wars II
Galvatron Emperor of Destruction and leader of the Destrons at that.
I've got one. Not a bad figure really. Only downside are Dragon modes little chook legs and bots head having that idiotic ninja turtles type gritting of the teeth, otherwise is good.
