Yup, Anarqui was also a little better this time round, a shame really, his debut episode sucks so bad that it taints all his other appearances.
We should have known that the whole "only unknown villains" was a load of bull.

Ra's al Ghul was announced extremely early on, actually.
As for Anarky...when he shows up, someone let me know, I want to see him kill that dude in the white hood who stole his name. I get that they didn't want to use the A-listers, but seeing what they've done so far, clearly they didn't want to use the D-listers, either...

I get the feeling that any mainstream villains like Ra's will only be for big deal events like season finale or game-changing multi-parters, with all the obscure villains like what we've gotten so far will remain the standard norm for the villains-of-the-day.

Jup, I think they actually hinted at that in interviews. Something along the lines of them concentrating on the unknown guys so they wouldn't rehash the same old stories, but that wouldn't mean the big guys didn't exist.
I also seem to remember reading that Batman has already existed for about 7 years prior in this year, so maybe he already encountered most of them and their currently locked up. But then again, the first few eps seem to imply that Batman hasn't been around that long and is still getting used to it all.
I still can't see Anarchy as the main villain, he's only shown up twice now, while the League of assassins have been in almost every episode so far.

I think it's safe to say this show is dead. It's on hiatus without any official word on when it returns, there is a rumor that it comes back in January, but nothing to confirm it.
Just like with Thundercats, only Thundercats managed to survive for two seasons before this happened.
Oh well, I'll just watch something else instead.

Green Arrow has one in the CW's Arrow TV series (or at least, that was the character's original purpose and has now become his civilian identity).

I hate to dig this back up but..........
not needing a different voice in costume; almost as far as his first appearance, the writers made sure that readers knew that Batman spoke with a creepy/scary voice, not to mention that both the Tim Burton Batman and the animated series Batman had different voices in costume.
not needing armor;Batman number 1, released in April of 1940 revealed that Batman always had a ballistic vest sewn into the top half of his body suit.FYI, a ballistic vest is a form of body armor.
not needing a Batmobile, while it was red, and was not styled to look like a bat......Batman did indeed have an automobile in his very first appearance in detective comics number 27
not needing a Batcave, while in the early 40;s, the "cave" was depicted as more of a hidden tunnel between the manor and a old bar he hid the car in.....Batman has always had/needed such a place.
a Batcomputer, has had 1 since the 1960s
a butler,first appeared in 1943
a Batwing, all thou originally called the "batplane" and then by other names, Batman has always needed a type of aircraft since detective comics number 31 from 1939
a no killing policy, true, but its been part of the character since the very early 1940;s.
the mask was originally intended to scare bad guys.Superman doesnt scare with his looks.
might I ask where are you basing these things on?Dead Metal wrote:You know what else Batman never needed in the past? As for the mask, so? He doesn't need it, since the mask is there to make it more believable that his secret identity is kept secret. But since we don't need believability in this, h wouldn't need a mask. Hey it works for Superman.

Because Arrow is just so incredibly faithful to the comics.

Dude, you're basically proving what I stated ages ago, it wasn't there from the begining, it was introduced later on and has since stuck and adopted into the mythos. All you did was underscore my whole point, so thank you.
And you resurrected this dead thread about a dead TV show just to take part in a stupid argument that was dead an buried? How and why did you even find this thread in the first place?

I was looking around thew site and found the topic, and i'm a fan of the show so i checked the topic out,
as to the points you were trying to make, with a character as old as this one, I wouldnt equate things/people/places that all came out within the first 5 years as being introduced "later".
but thats my opinion.

funny thing is, the thread didn't get the chance to develop and they stopped airing the show ..
What was the final verdict, does anyone knows why did they call it off in the end?

I liked it. A lot. Serialized show with an ongoing plot that carried from episode to episode and gave focus to some low key villains that have never been seen in the mainstream cartoons before.
It's baffling that the channel owned by Warner Bros wouldn't air this really good Batman show, of all things, cuz you'd think that Warner Bros would see the potential for success in a Batman product, right?

Like Anarky, the red-clad, hot-headed wannabe Freedom Fighter with a disdain for manipulation and corruption--oh wait, he's the exact opposite of that in this show.
I ask again, what's the point of using the D-list villains if they're going to be changed so much that they only superficially resemble themselves? Or, in Anarky's case, superficially resemble the Spectre.
