The only purpose for the (yes, air-drying) "Paperclay" was to provide a flat surface for the G1 Reprolabel sticker to rest. If it was going to be exposed, then, of course I would've taken more time and care to make it better (I'm a perfectionist!)... But, since the sticker will be covering it, I just needed something for the sticker to rest on. Not to mention, this is the first time I've ever used clay (other than the obligatory "4th grade, making an ashtray" type of sculpting).

Don't worry. I think I kind of, pretty much, hope I know what I'm doing. ;)

Also, don't you have to cook Milliput? I'm not putting action figure parts in the oven, when they're getting harder and harder to find, and me, without money or a way to acquire it...

not the stuff I use, you just mix it together (two parts) and it cures like epoxy.
till all are one.

Yeah Milliput is a two part epoxy clay. You mix the two clays and they react to each other and cure over time. great for custom stuff. I personally like Green Stuff better, but its a little harder to find and more expensive.

Since I don't want to start putting him together until it's been two weeks (even though Fusion only says 7 days), I thought I'd make some little teaser photos.

Glued the headlights in:

(didn't need to worry about paint scratching for that)

And, since it's been over two weeks since i did the black parts, here's more of the skeleton:

Enjoy!!

That is lookin' sweet. I don't have anywhere near the patience you have. With fusion my stuff is usually put back together within a couple hours of spraying.
till all are one.

Hey this looks great so far!! The Krylon Fusion paints you are using, do you prime the parts before you spray them with the fusion paint?
"Megatron, is that you?!!"

Krylon is made to be put on plastic without primer. It bonds with the top layer of the plastic to make it more scratch resistant.

Still waiting for the overcoat on the taillights to dry. I don't want to hammer that super-long pin back in, and risk screwing up any of the stickers...

Both.

I got white paint on it, and successfully removed it. In person, it looks fine, but the camera flash seems to make it all spotty and blurry.

When it's all done, I'll be using my best friend's camera and some lighting. It won't look like this, trust me.

Loving it. Though I think I'm gonna get the Movie Final Battle Jazz and bash some hands and a new head on it for my own classics Jazz. Partially because I can't find any more BBs around here.
