I know Wikis aren't completely reliable, but the article for Primus on Tfwiki argues AGAINST the "retconning of the retcon." I.e., it is still possible to conceive of Primus/Unicron in the IDW, movie, and Animated world (although it's more difficult for Animated). In regards to the movie universe:

It's no secret that, after the Unicron Trilogy, Universe and the Unicron-heavy Dreamwave Productions comic books, the fandom at large was generally quite sick of stories revolving around Unicron and Primus. It is likely no coincidence, then, that the major new universes which have been created in western media since then – those of the IDW Publishing comic books, the live-action movie and the Transformers Animated cartoon – have all eschewed use of the Primus creation myth. But what does this mean for the status of the retcon that states Primus exists in all universes?

The world of the live-action movie is a fairly cut-and-dried case. At first, The movie itself, and the comic books set in its continuity published by IDW, present the Transformers as creations of the enigmatic All Spark, with no explicit connection drawn between it and Primus. The UK's Furman-scripted Transformers magazine turned everything on its head, however, with the surprise appearance of Unicron in its eighteenth issue. While Primus was never mentioned in the course of the story, this adventure saw the Transformers voyage into the depths of Cybertron, where they discovered gears and joints that seemed like huge versions of their own interior workings – a clear reference to Cybertron being the transforming body of Primus. It seems safe to infer that Primus merely uses the All Spark as his intermediary in this universe; indeed, Takara's World of Transformers website even lists the All Spark as a sacred implement alongside other Primus-related talismans such as the Matrix and Vector Sigma.

Well, the new movie will get into the Transformers' past, such as the original 13 and yes, the Matrix. As far as I know there's no mention of Primus or Unicron, but if the writers handle it right, which I doubt they will, it could be a nice lead-up to the Unicron Saga.

It's a possibility. I've heard it said that the AllSpark is Primus's spark given a physical form, separated from his body (i.e. Cybertron).

I personally dont think they will go the Unicron route. As for primus my knowledge of him is some what limited. I can only really comment on Unicron. Got to think about it from a business stand-point. If you try to go to spacey with the movie and start talking about planet sized transformers people are gonna start thinking its cheesy. When I say people I dont mean the TF world. Unfortunately for the TF world, they dont really care about the original story they just care about how much money they can make off of the name. Which doesnt bother me, because I didnt like how they went with the original movie from the 80s. I like the new age spin on things that Hollywood is putting out right now.
