tard: HA you need a new hobby

tard:Oh and whats that?
me:Once I buy it, I'm going to take it and smash you over the head with it. Then you'd be screaming for Starscream to stop attacking you.
I'm sure something like that might happen to some of us as we're sitting outside wal-mart in the freezing cold weather.

Heh. There's threads (yes, multiples) already in existence.
I'll go ahead and answer this though, since you're a noob, and it'll be easier for you to find the info.
1.) He is a confirmed Wal-Mart exclusive.
2.) We've heard a small list of release times.
They include:
September (according to TransFormers.com, the official Hasbro site. This has since been proven wrong.)
October (according to Action-H-Q, they claim it's due to ship out October 15th or 16th. Apparently this hasn't happened, because none of the people who preordered him have said it shipped to them. So this looks to have been proven wrong as well.)
November (according to a tag on the display shelf at BotCon. Most likely this one will be the correct date. Many of us believe it'll be a Black Friday exclusive.)
eBay auctions claim December or January, other posters claim we're not getting him at all. (none of this is true. It'll be before December, and we are definitely getting him.)
I, and another poster here, emailed Hasbro's Customer Service and their email said:Customer (Name Removed) 10/03/2007 11:57 AM
Hello. I heard recently that you're bringing the Masterpiece Starscream figure to Wal-Mart stores as an exclusive. I was wondering if you could tell me when he's due, and about how much the MSRP is? Here's the UPC code for him: 6 53569 27551 0 along with a picture of his UPC barcode.
Thank you in advance. I appreciate it.
Their response:Response (Veronica) 10/03/2007 02:57 PM
Hi (Name Removed),
Thank you for contacting Hasbro, Inc. We appreciate your interest in our company and products!
This product has just recently begun shipping to Walmart stores. Please keep in mind that depending on time of year, retailer distribution systems, store inventory and sales patterns, it may take from several weeks up to several months for some products to show up on store shelves.
Please continue checking your local Walmart stores and their online store for availability of this product.
Again, thank you for your interest.
So as you can see, we are getting him. Wal-Mart will be the place, and as she said, it's dependent on the store as to when it'll be on the shelves. However, she didn't realize exactly how the stores work. So we can't hold it against her.
Here's where she's wrong:
1.) They're shipping to Wal-Mart warehouse/distribution centers now.
2.) Once they arrive, and invoices hit the system, etc...then the warehouses will start shipping them to the stores.
So, yeah, she's right, generally, but, it could be weeks to months, depending on the store. However, since the warehouses are getting them in as we speak, and BotCon said November...we will see him within the next month's worth of time.
No worries, he's coming. To Wal-Mart. We'll get him.
Oh and since no one else has done it..WELCOME TO SEIBERTRON! WARNING: SEIBERTRON CONTAINS NUTS!

Last time I heard something about him- we were all speculating that it was a WM exclusive and all the hobby shops would be getting their MPs from WM. Amazon Japan only purchases items directly from the manufacturer. How are they getting it if its a WM exclusive?
They never buy from Wal-Mart.

That is because Amazon Japan has the right to purchase from the Manufacturer, domestically they, Hasbro, have licensed the sale to Wal-mart as an exclusive...

So will Takara be producing it then as well? Im just trying to keep it clear. Also, will it remain a WM exclusive or will Hasbro eventually distribute it everywhere? Thanks skywarp-2

Takara will also be producing MP SS G1, IMHO much better than Hasbro because of less smoke-damage and much cleaner-looking paintjob.
Xgamer wrote:Thanks Zemper and Skywarp-2. I will probably go for the Takara version if the price drops or I can find it cheap. 10,000 yen is alot of USD, esp when you add shipping to the US.

Action-H-Q does, in fact, have him in stock. (Yes, literally in stock)
The info came from this post on TFans:

(Hey mods, could you post a news thing on him being released for sale? I think it's newsifiable.)
Generally, they receive items 2-4 weeks before we do stateside (more like 3) so we could very well see him by the beginning of November, or the middle. If so, he might not be a BFB exclusive at all.
This is good news for all of us.

That looks pretty battle damage free.

I just saw this too. I'm ALL over it so I can end any speculation that I'm going to get him. To hell with Walmart.
Merry EARLY Christmas to me!

I would, if I could, but the price, the waiting time...by the time I do all of that, I could just sit around for BFB and get him on my own. Screw that!
Hmm...this is now October 19th. and A-HQ/Hong Kong gets items 2-4 weeks before we do (usually 3, as I stated before) Let's go with the 2 week scenario for a moment...
That would be an instore date of November 2nd. (Not saying on the shelves, but in STORE, somewhere.) which would be doable. Throw out the UPC, have 'em pulled from the back, get him, voila. This would cancel out the chance that he'd be BFB material.
Three weeks would be November 9th, which would be great honestly. Everyone's gotten their paychecks in (so fresh money to blow, LOL) and he would still not be a Black Friday Blitz item. (yay.)
Four weeks would be November 23rd...Black Friday, which would solidify his BFB placehold.
And...well...let's think about this. A-HQ got their's now. Meaning the entire line of him has been made and is on the move. He's in transit to WM stores as we speak (according to Hasbro) and Robot Kingdom says on their eBay auctions that he's due November 1st. (This would fit the two week scheme)
But...as things are shaping up...it does seem like he'll be a Black Friday Blitz item. Although, (I'd think) he'd be in the stores before Friday morning, considering the sale starts at 6:00 AM, but...weirder things have happened.
Prime vs Wild wrote:That price is just too high. I don't enjoy the thought of standing outside a Wal-Mart at 4:30 am BF morning, dozing off from all the turkey I've had, but $90 + shipping is too much.
It is good to know that someone has them, they're real, and will be here soon though. Here's hoping the UPC trick works BEFORE BF.

My rational: it's no worse than what I would spend on a good night out. And since my 4 month old doesn't allow me to have those any more, this will have to suffice.
