I want to add something to this that has not been stated.
Hasbro provides better and more rare exculsives.
Yes, some of the Takara product is limited and difficult to get because it is overseas. BinalTech, Reissues, etc. However, these items are standard releases over in Japan. Even Masterpiece toys can be found at your average TRU.
Hasbro stateside is constantly providing actual exclusive figures with very limited production runs.
Hate on Wal-Mart all you want, but them in conjunction with Target and TRU has afforded us the opportunity for many interesting and increasingly valuable toys.
Also, don't think our appetite for Japanese exclusives is one way. The Japanese go for USA editions and exclusives in a big way. Nemesis Prime from Target was an exceptionally hot item in Japan when it hit.
Classics are a US only item (essentially), as are Titaniums. Though these are more comparible to the Japanese reissues and BinalTech, they are still highly sought after there.
hasbro or takara???

If i like the toy, i would buy both Takara and Hasbro.
And display them one in vehicle mode and another in robot mode
Still remember the old Takara transformers series, before the existant of the G1 "Transformers"? I guess you can't beat the originator.
At the time they are not self-consious robots (they need drivers) and just the fun of transforming to anything
Can't belieave to keep that "Transforming Idea", today they have to explain the imitation as to hide from us.
