I'm trying to find something with a high "wife acceptance factor" and that is relatively cat and small child proof.

Thats the one i have (the wood on mine is black though) and i love it!

It was really easy to build, its very sturdy and it is very cat proof as i have two cats and no problems yet!

Dunno about kids though...i can imagine the glass getting really dirty every day from having the kids sticky little mits touching the glass all day...but apart from that it should be fine. The magnets that hold the glass door closed are very strong, so i doubt a baby would be able to open it...but a toddler....hmmm....not sure.

Notice the heavy curtins?

I had a hard time finding curtins which would shield out the intense light and heat that the window takes in the afternoon.

Arg, what a pain in the ass that was.

Curtains? I'm still too busy staring at the figures on the shelves. My eyes hadn't gotten to the background yet.

I think the real story here is that lovely tablecloth.

Does heat and light hurt them then? The room mine are in does get direct sunlight but its filtered through some blinds, so theres now direct UV exposure, just lots of natural light. Would that hurt them too?

He regularly does magic with it: "Now, before your very eyes... I will pull the tablecloth from under the figures and...(woosh)... yes, the Transformers are still standing." (wild applause)

Young man, there's no need to feel down.
I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground.
I said, young man, 'cause you're in a new town
There's no need to be unhappy.

Young man, there's a place you can go.
I said, young man, when you're short on your dough.
You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find
Many ways to have a good time.

My collection is pretty small. But most of this has been bought in the last few weeks, so I've been bitten by the collecting bug.

Most of my chibis are hiding in that picture! And you can't even see Skids or Barricade. Blackout doesn't deserve to be in the picture. I think so far my favorite is...everything but Blackout, Scoponok (SNORE!!), Barricade Robot Replica, and...that's about it. I loves my other Transformers. My room is starting to look like a teenage boy's.

This is my G1 collection. Unfortunately, I have no room for any of my others. I have 1 tub for Beast Wars, 1 for Armada, 1 for Cybertron/Galaxy Force and Energon, and a container for Classics, Alternators and PVCs......I wish I could display them someday :(

with so many figures from different lines and allegiances... i have to either display them by character, faction, or series. Just doesnt seem right to mix them all together, ITS MADNESS I SAY.

And I may be biased having been a TF fan for as long as I can remember, but nothing makes me happier than a G1 heavy collection, especially all the gestalts. The toys aren't superior to the new stuff in terms of playability, but those are what it all began with and you can't knock your roots!

Seriously, there are some nice collections in this thread.
I wish I had that kind of disposable income.

Yinz are really making me consider running out on my wife and kid. :-?
If I do can I stay at your place Counterpunch?

First off, there are some nice collections showing up. I love seeing dedication to the fandom in the form of people's collections.

It's not always about size. You can tell how much people care about them when they take time and effort to make the collections look great on display, regardless of size.

Yes in fact you can.

September 22nd, Bear DE, my place.

We still haven't made a firm decision on sushi vs cooking out.

(Errr, it is a 5 hour drive though...I know that's tough. Why does PA have to be so damn big?)

It seems like almost every Pennsylvanian on this board lives out east :-(
Ah well, less competition in the toy stores out here.

Your get togehter sounds fun, unfortunatly my life doesn't allow me the time to make it. :?

Cheers anyways!

I have my own TF room. Check out the myspce link in my signature to see my collection. It's an average size collection of 500+ figures. I've tried to display them in a visually nice way that still makes a big statement.
