QFT. IRS > Solid rear. I had a mudstain once, didn't like it, IRS handles so much better around the twisties. FYI it's the Stang (and Camaro and Firebird) is a Pony Car, they are too small inside and out for a muscle car.

Personally though, the only reason I don't like the Elise because I think the rear-end looks like poo, give me an XK anyday. Like they ran out of talent once they got past the wheels. The new Vettes are even worse "well it's all nice and shapely what do we do back here, huge solid slab of plastic? sure!"

Motto: "If you feel my lightning, you will never hear the thunder."
another aspect of picking out a car, I believe that one must think about how much will it cost to maintain it. Some cars have expensive parts, particularly ones that are foreign cars. My car can be expensive to maintain. I just spent $11 for a small part that was made out of plastic. But I am not going to persuade you either way.

Yeah, that was me. I'm British and as much as I love to support the British makes ( all my previous quick cars have been British ) I stand by my opinion on the Lotus. Its a great car to drive, bloody nimble. However, I think you would have to be REALLY dedicated to live with the Lotus as an everyday car. The seats a very thin, provide lots of support but after a long drive you would feel it.

I know zip about the Mustang and I suppose I should have realised it was a hulking great monster with little finesse. I just love the look of the Mustang. So I guess the Lotus is the better of the two for the keen driver.

Lets just say "subtlety" is not to be found in the Mustang's dictionary.

And a video of him in action.

that is the only drag racing T-Bird I've ever seen. I love it, because it just works.

You all may hate the Mustang, but obviously it's your choice. So I'll avoid that.
Again, I reiterate, it's not the car, it's the person.

There's actually quite a number, enough to rent a track all to ourselves one weekend a year, get entire brackets in other events and some good points bringers in NMRA. I'm in the mid-range, anywhere from 10's to 16's for the 4.6L V8 crowd on street legal cars with full interior, AC, Automatic, Power steering etc, etc. One of the ultimate examples of "more than meets the eye"

Hopefully my Mustnag will be like that. I hate when you tow your car to races. It's made to drive, and be enjoyed, not showed off on a trailer.
Besides, in Maryland, drag racing itself is rare, at least I don't go often. (illegal) Street racing is more common.

We got quite a few guys up there. ;)

Here's a pic of me and the MD/VA/WVA crew in Maryland at Mason Dixon Dragway in Hagerstown.

There's also MIR that isn't far from Baltimore.

Weird, I never knew about either strip.
Only Captital and Cecil county.
Which I found hilarious when they asked us if we were racing. Dude, it's a freakin 1996 Silverado Z71...really, when do those race?

Heh, my wife actually took our 95 F-150 down a strip just to see what all the fuss was about. Afterwards she said it was a pure adrenaline rush. Oddly enough I think it was a Z71 they paired her off against.
