In some not-so-shocking news, Josh Duhamel officially confirmed today that he will in fact be part of Transformers 3.

Here's the scoop, courtesy of comingsoon.net

While it was expected, it was not confirmed yet whether Josh Duhamel would return as Major Lennox in Transformers 3.

Duhamel told us today at the Las Vegas ShoWest convention that he met with director Michael Bay yesterday, that the script is done and they're preparing to start filming in the summer. So yes, he will indeed be back alongside Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox and Tyrese Gibson.

Transformers 3 is scheduled to hit theaters on July 1, 2011.

This is good news. Lennox and Epps are the only remotely likable human characters in the movies.

I think Duhamel and Gibson should be the main stars of the films, not LaBeouf and tacky Fox!

Do hope there's more screen time for Lennox and the N.E.S.T. Autobots; we had plenty of bad-guy scenes in ROTF, now let's have a good balance with both side in #3!
