The stupidest or the smartest thing that has happened

There is more to Transformers than movies, cartoons, comics and toys. Discuss anything else Transformers here.

After Teletraan1 repaired all the Decepticons, Megatron should have blasted away and destroyed Prime. And proceed to annihilate the rest of the Autobots, and crush Teletraan1.

Some may say he's in a hurry to make energon cubes to bring to Cybertron, with the end goal of conquering the planet and destroy the Autobots.

So why not just skip the entire process, and destroy the Autobots while in stasis mode?

Megatron often says: I would have waited an eternity for this...

But whenever the opportunity comes, he just let it slip by.

Simply stupid!

Well, to be fair, for all intents and purposes the Autobots were dead, it would have been a waste of time and energy. It was Starscream's inteptitude which resulted in the Autobots being reactivated.

Megatron clearly KNOWS they were in stasis mode. NOT dead. He was banking on the chance that none of them will fall into the Teletraan1 beam.

Besides, Megatron is fond of crushing Prime with his BARE hands. So here's a golden opportunity.

I mean, really, here was the chance for Grimlock to shine, and...the show's writers have no idea how to solve the problem they wrote themselves into. So he finds THE FRIGGING OFF SWITCH!
It still bothers me to this day...

Usually, I would agree that it's stupid, but in this case, that was the point. The creator of the machinery (his name escapes me right now, sorry) was so focused on a technologically sophisticated approach that he overlooked the simplest solution. It took a supposed dumb brute to find it. Beautiful irony.

By the way, it technically was the "reverse" switch, but that doesn't really matter.

One of the stupidest things was in Carnage in C-Minor when the guy was holding on to one of Broadside's wings while he was flying. Who would be stupid enough to do that?

Stupidest thing: Having Bay direct the TF Movie.

Smartest thing: Having Bay direct SOME of the action scenes. (Not all action scenes has sense of logic.)

Stupidest: Continually bitching about Bay being the director when clearly the movie is a hit and Dreamworks is happy.

Smartest Thing: Trying create a united fanbase so that people don't sweat the small stuff.

(Yeah I know it wont happen but one can hope.)

Heh, Mentok's my favourite character from BMATL.

Damolisher, did you even bother reading the article or the source it has in the footnotes? I did. I don't trust WIkis so I went to the foot notes and clicked on the link to the original source article and read that as well to verify the information.

It's called research.

Stupidist thing ever?

Putting Tramp and Damolisher in the same thread :P

Smartest- new movie. Really brought tf popularity back up into higher numbers, and introduced the cool RiD to the youngsters- aka the target market- of today, in a place where they can all see it.

Stupidist- The choice of animation styles used in Cybertron.
Armada was quite well done albeit some animation errors (as can be expected), and even Energon was decent enough. Plus that one episode where Megatron is forcefully changing Inferno into a con.
The animation in that one climatic scene was beautiful. It made me thing of 'Call of the Primitives'.

Megatron still has a a sense of honor, crushing an unconscious foe wouldn't been as satisfactory to him than defeating and humiliating him in battle.

I had expected the Movie to do several folds better. A clear all time number one from the start.

This Movie didn't capture the full potential of the franchise.

Anyway, some of the action scenes are good. Very short. But good.
