The "GUNDAM" Community
My God.
I thought ppl hating Drift more. Every since Bandai announce that the next Perfect Grade(PG) will be Strike Freedom Gundam....the forums have been turning in2 a angry mob on how they hate Kira "Jesus" Yamato(pilot) and pissed that Bandai is making a PG kit after his gundam and I been like WTF is wrong with you PEOPLE!!!
Strike Freedom is a awesome design and ppl acknowledge it but to be bias ova the mecha because of the hate for the pilot is beyond me.
That like saying that the most sexist gurl want to go home with me but I turn her down cause she was wearing white after labor and now I hate her.
Come to think of it...going back to Drift...I lot of ppl hating on Drift and because either his role or personality in the comics and refuse to buy the toy because of it. I might be the 1st to say this but I neva read any comics that he was in but I think his action figure is one of the best deluxes I got this year next to Terradive.
I understand if a figure looks good but a person cant get it because of financial reasons or if the figure wasnt in the show or out of size compare to other figures(but most of them brought Classics Galvatron*fail* or WFC Bumblebee..lol). That really isc base on their preference.
I mad as a collector myself that I see ppl not only bash but to be completely biased on a figure because of their role in a cartoon, anime, or comic and then get mad when ppl appraise it is completely crazy to me and sumtimes makes me not to voice my opinion at all.
Sorry for the random rant. Sum ppl jus pissed me off at times...thats all

Have Gundam fans sent death threats to people involved in the creation of Gundam toys and fiction?
If they haven't, they're not yet scarier than Transformer fans >_>

Not that I'm aware of, but Hideaki Anno very famously got death threats after the last episode of Evangelion aired. He even included some of the letters in EoE.

Well here's one thing I know for sure.
At least in TF land no lard bucket dresses up as slave Elita-1 or Arcee and thinks they look good.

While I dislike Kira for different reasons, the Strike Freedom is a pretty bad looking PG. It so plain and uninspired, it lacks the realism that usually stands out in PG kits.
Well deserved threats.
That pyscho thriller ending was a terrible way to end an action and character based anime. EoE redeemed it though!

Thank you for that image Trans-Am.

Transformers fans ARE saner than most other groups, Star Trek and Such have a lot of crazies and we only have a few. (Rashaka=

Fans will be feral about any series if there is more than one writer/director/MS designer/artist etc. Gundam has been around for 30 years, it's had its fair share of cooks in its kitchen lol.

I could probably find a pic to prove you wrong, but I don't think it's worth the mental scarring.

It's pretty crazy and cutthroat out there. There isn't the same sense of G1 homaging in new Transformers series as there is Original Gundam homaging in new Gundam series. Yes, they might have their similarities pilot wise or plot wise, but the designs are always news and different. The older fans aren't always catered to either, each fan seemingly picks sides and then hates everything else that doesn't belong in their sphere of interest.
It got so ruthless that Ngee Khiong decided to pack up and call it quits. A viewer of his site since it's creation a couple years ago, I'm really disappointed. Infact his blog post pretty much summarizes what's been going on.
Of course I'm sure everything's lost in translation - i'm sure it's not so bad.. I enjoy everything Gundam and while I'd love to see everyone happy, I'm going to enjoy what I enjoy and continue to do so despite what other's think.
Fan politics are always the suck anyways.

I for one is very upset that Ngee Khiong is closing down his blog site cause that was my #1 source of for gundam/kamen rider release dates. I was shock to see how the gundam fans will attack him on some issues regarding products he display on his site or which side he is own even tho he neva give his opinions on the products or shows on his site. Such a pity tho because he always update his site almost like hourly and the mecha community made him throw in the towel

I don't hate Kira. He had his flaws, sure, but that's a prerequisite for piloting a Mobile Suit.
The Strike Freedom, though, is a pretty "meh" design. It's not the worst MS design ever (Guess why I don't like G Gundam!) but it's not that great either.

Oh I've seen some cosplay that puts the WTF in TF. Such as a 'Barricade' that was a chick in a bikini with a white fright wig. And a pretty-princess Rodimus, but that might have been ironic, so...yeah.
But for the most part TF cosplay is a tame thing indeed.
And the TF fandom is pretty mellow save for fangirl issues such as mechpreg (yeah don't ask). WAY tamer than the ATLA fandom or even the Trigun one I briefly flirted with.
HK, gentlemen, stay well clear of fangirls. they *scary!*

Didn't she get tossed out of one of the Cons? Wayward mentioned something about that a few years ago, but no one had pics of the offender.

I kinda think of Gundam as the Star Trek of Japan because of its number of different series and of how long it has been around. Think about it. As a female TF fan Im pretty tame by comparison.

It's actually the Star Trek of Japan because it's beginnings were so similar. A decent sci-fi series that was canceled too soon, got good rating in reruns, enough to warrant a series of movies which were so successful they were able to get a new show on the air, which proved to be even more popular than the first.

Damn, yeah I seem to be one of the few Gundam fans who likes everything really, I like 00 and Wing, the original Gundam, hell, even G Gundam.
I really couldn't care less if the make a PG Strike Freedom, may end up getting it, but only time will tell.
