I never heard of them so I looked them up. That was punk rock at it's absolute worst. And yes, MCR is emo. Both of those bands are. Along with Fallout Boy although, I'll admit that they are'nt as bad as the previous 2.
I'm halfway through Interview. No complaints so far.

MCR at least started out respectable by covering Misfits songs. Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge wasn't a bad album. Just way overplayed.

That's awful, it sounds as if they must hold you down and force you to read the book aloud!
Oh wait, no they're not apparently.
Maybe they're trying to get you to stop talking about Sailor Moon.
By ignoring you and pretending to read.

How dare SC24 change his name to one of the most sacred robots in mecha lore! He is not worthy of the name!
I honestly don't care that it's getting on your nerves. This thread is for discussing the book and movie. We got a little side tracked with Anne Rice, but that was to be expected considering that it's vampire related. If you don't want to talk about the book then don't post. It's as simple as that.

Just read the frikkin book. It's not going to kill you and you can finish it in a week. Also, are'nt you the one who wants to get into better friendships with girls? Trust me, it's a good book to use to talk to them about.

You may want to consider it. Reading anyway, outside of school. It can be helpful to you in so many ways, but in this case, if you read TWILIGHT, it would allow you to have something in common with some of these girls that you may be interested in.
My wife reads, and re-reads TWILIGHT, and its sequels. She has read a diverse set of books, from many different authors, and marks these amongst her favorites, although the newest one, did not meet her expectations to wrap up the series.
I will be going to see the movie with her on Saturday. Friday she is seeing it with some of her local group of TWILIGHT fans.
Somehow this book appeals not only to teenage girls, but girls/and women.
I personally have not read it. I have heard a lot about it from my wife though, and know the gist and many of the main characters' names, etc.
I am not a big vampire fan. It's a bit creepy, and too close to real. My mom considered that they may actually exist. My mom who is very intelligent, educated, and well read told me this when I was still living at home years ago. When my level-headed intelligent mother says that it made me think that there may be many wonders that we do not want to believe exist that do. And somethings that aren't so wonderful too, I imagine.

Re: Twilight book and movie discussion
Vampire novels are usually a lot more than just blood sucking. The story arc of Twilight focuses a lot on human relationships and how Edward learns to focus on his human side and emotions that he left behind when he became a vampire.
I personally don't think vampires actually exist. Vlad the Impaler was the human equivalent of a vampire from which all other vampire stories exist. I'm willing to bet that there were some sickos like The Countess (not the Diablo boss) and others that only fueled the fire of blood drinkers, but reports of actual beings that drain humans dry for nourishment is very slim. Let's face it, blood is not a very good diet to live off of for anyone even occult creatures. Does'nt Alucard in the Castlevania games use food to get health? I knoe that's a game, but still it seems logical that a "vampire" would eat real food.
If vampires did actually exist, I think it would have to be caused by something like a virus or genetic mutation, but this is only theoretical.
Doubledealer: You should seriously consider reading more. I've found some books to be more entertaining than video games. I strongly recommend Dragonlance and Pendragon. They are good series to read.

The last book is called Midnight Sun and it was the first book told through Edward's eyes. The first 12 chapters were stolen and posted online. She posted it on her website so her fans wouldn't feel guilty reading them. But I guess it pissed her off to the point where she is going to wait to write the rest of the book because right now she'd want to kill the entire family or something

I wish she'd hurry up and finish it. I get the feeling the fight scenes that are missing are in that book.

so the wife dragged me to that movie yesterday...it actually wasn't terrible. She said they left out a lot of important details though. I'm curious to hear the opinions(on the movie) of others who have read the series.

Re: Twilight book and movie discussion
From what I heard(I refuse to pay to see the movie), the cinematography was terrible, the soundtrack was terrible, the effects were terrible, and the acting was a bit subpar.
Granted this was an MTV movie, so people expecting special effects on par with LOTR or Constantine would be sorely disappointed.
Honestly it was an MTV indy film, of course it's gonna be low-budget as hell.
But like I said, I refuse to pay to see the movie.

I think it was about what I expected. Love story with teenage vampirism in the background. It was interesting enough, but certainly will not be something that people not fans of the book (or dating/married to fans of the book) will go see.
Although I am sure it will have busted a high sale this weekend.

Oh God. Twilight.
Lest I post some truly horrible things I feel about this "franchise", let me simply say that it blows my loathing for Bakugan, Katy Perry, Ben 10 and every new cartoon produced by Cartoon Network in the past 8 years COMBINED out of the water.
There is one good thing about Twilight, though. We finally get to find out if vampires really do exist. Because while they may have let 'Interview', 30 Days of Night, Blade and Count Chocula slide, they are sure as hell going to break cover to kill this Stephenie Meyer chick. It goes BEYOND principle.

Re: Twilight book and movie discussion
I read the book, loved it. The movie was good. Casting was EXCELLENT. The movie made a lot of avoidable mistakes, but the one that irked me the most was the Cullen's house. In the book, the house was supposed to be a massive white victorian with six large trees that cast a shadow to the porch, and there was supposed to be a river in the back yard. In the movie, the house was on a hill with no discernable yard, and the house looked like a house you would usually see on a usual eco friendly show on the travel channel. It was just wood and glass. I would never tell if a vampire lived in it, it was awful. Carlisle was TOO PALE. Looked like a cross between Patrick Dempsey and a geisha.

Complaining about cosmetic differences? That's really digging deep for stuff to complain about...

I'm almost done with New Moon. It's A LOT better than the first.
I kinda wish the series had Lestat though.
