The Waist, yes will have a larger space in the back than it will in the front.
Just get the 2 black pegs in to the blue piece with the holes, and plug the center peg, onto the bottom of his torso, where it spins around.
He is a very cool figure IMHO:

I wonna say 74 BB...

If anyone can help me with the issues I am having, I would appreciate it. They are:
1)Is his head supposed to be so far back?
2) How do I keep his head from constantly falling down? Is there some way to "click" it in place, like Deluxe Jazz's head?
3) How does the waist "click" onto his upper body? I always seem to have a little space on the back of his waist that can't be corrected because his waist wont go up any further.

Maybe Classics Grimlock? Looks kind of like the bayonet on his gun.

All of the instructions do. I recently bought DVD Edition Prime and took notice at how stripped they are, compared to 20th. Anniversary Prime's originals.
Then while I was sorting all of my A/E/C instructions, catalogs, etc (getting the necessary paperwork for a trade) I noticed the level of detail in the A/E/C trilogy, compared to current lines...and they sorely lack.
Classics and Movie instructions are really stripped and the artistry is just so subpar that you can't make heads or tails of the crap. Once I realized that people were right about Leader Class Megatron being easier to transform without the instructions...I knew we were in for a ride. A bad one, that is.
Cheap's one thing, but this is just pure laziness on their part. Sad.

I'm eager to try it myself.
I just successfully kitbashed my alts sunstreaker, and kinda am jonesing for my next project. I already have my alts skids apart, but it's going to require more planning before I actually start. Turning him into Ratchet ... I hope.
No need to go into details unless you want to.
I'm particularly interested in the silver and gold metallic on his robot body parts.
I found your kitbash thread the other day, so i'll go and actually read the text to see if I can answer some of my own questions.
