Whadduhyouthink? Collection habit getting a little out of control.

Postby Bumblethumper » Sat Oct 20, 2007 7:24 pm

I really stepped up my collecting this summer, and it's at this point actually led to a backlog. You know you're getting old when you feel like you have to set aside some time to open your stuff. There was a guy here who would start up a thread "should I open my..." whatever. Anyway, it was never my intention to be a MISB collector, I just haven't gotten around to these yet.

Sitting unopened I've got:

Alternator Wheeljack
Titanium 6inch WW Megatron
Movie Voyager Blackout
Movie Deluxe Wreckage
Masterpiece Starscream
Movie Deluxe Concept Bumblebee
Movie Deluxe Longarm
Movie Voyager Optimus + Deluxe Concept Bumblebee 2pack
Movie Deluxe Dreadwing
Movie Legends Optimus
Movie Legends Baricade
Movie Legends Jazz
Alternator Optimus
Alternator Ravage

Haven't handled any of them yet. Alternator Optimus and Titanium Megatron I probably shouldn't have got, since I never liked the look of them. Those are probably the worst examples of them being available, and me getting swept up in the get-em-while-you-can hype.

So, any ideas? What'll I open next? What would you open?

definatly the alternators first, then i'd open the masterpiece starscream, then the movie bots! start with the longarm, he's the nicest of the deluxes you have listed, next to the bee of coarse! i've never had that problem( yet?)but it has to be fun knowing you have a pile waiting for you, huh??

Wheeljack and Ravage are the ones to open. Then Voyager Prime and maybe the Bumblebees if you feel like it.

I wouldnt open Titanium Megs. I regret not keeping mine and Prime MISB because they just aren't much more than display pieces with laughable transformations.

You have the silver titanium megatron (not purple) and you don't like it? Wanna sell it? I never saw it or g1 ultra magnus titaniums. Heck I didn't even see beast machines cheetor. Lame distribution over here.

I never have a toy moc for more than a day if I plan on opening it. I think it's cool you have such a huge pile of figures to open and enjoy for a rainy day. I think you should open what looks worst, and work your way up to best. I think concept bumblebee or mp starscream should be last to open.

Open anything. Skip opening the Titanium Megs, keep in MISB as he is hard to pose since it is topheavy due to its diecast construction.

I feel your pain. Due to a current lack of shelf space I have 5 movie figures and 2 from Cybertron sitting unopened. I don't intend to leave them that way, I just haven't moved the new shelf into the room yet.

I've got about ten unopened at the moment, two of which I don't plan on opening 'cause they just don't do it for me. I have to say it's strangely comforting knowing that they're there waiting. You should look at them all in turn and open the one that makes you feel fuzziest, then do it all again next week. There's a lot to be said for an 'opening queue'.

Open up Wheeljack. The only figure that I have not opened up is Alternators Optimus.
