AUTOBOTS & DECEPTIOCONS BASE OF OPERATIONS???

Postby Mattamus Prime » Wed Oct 24, 2007 7:00 pm

So set up shop in the second one !! I mean... both sides can't just run around Earth with no base, no home, no teletran 1. :-? and while I'm thinking about it.... "space bridge!" Cool!!!

Anyway.... they both need to set up a base of operations. Not necessarily the the base of an active volcano.... but decepticons crashing in the ocean aint bad. Plus Megs is already down there. I think they both need to have established a base before or during #2

Just looking for cool ideas.

Maybe... by the time the first one starts... the Autobots have already set up base camp and have regrouped. Maybe by the 3rd one decepticons have secretly set up base as well?????

The Autobots will be using Area 51...Decepticons will be in caves in Afghanistan.

I wouldn't mind a base for the Decepticons, but the Autobots don't have much use for one. Their existence is well known by now, as well as their allegiance. There's no need for the 'bots to do things secretively. I once read in a similar thread that people would get suspicious of the Autobot's cause if they would suddenly hide in a secret base. It's just something you'd expect from those pesky 'Cons.

However, what benefit exactly would a base of operations be? They already have advanced computers built-in. They can scan alt-modes, the internet and the prescence of the All-Spark. They can send messages through space (Prime) via light signals (Bumblebee) and over their fancy TF radio (Frenzy)

Yeah I can see the Autobots being all over the place and manning different "posts" around the globe. So I can see no base for the Autobots. Still I think they need one for repairs, "inventing ****," and also for "recharging" and a place to rest. Plus to communicate back and forth with cybertron... cause right now they really can't can they.

I thought if anything when Bumblebee shined his beacon it was to show them where to crash land. I mean... I don't think the Autobots made it there in 30 minutes all the way from cybertron.

However the Decepticons should definitely have one. They could benefit from having one for sure to regroup and plan, etc.

What do ya think?

For th Autobots, at the moment, they're too few to justify the needs for a base unless they are given use of Sector 7's base now that the angency has been disbanded.

For the Decepticons. Given Starscream went into space, I'd assume they're hidden on Mars given it was most likely a Decpeticon that destroyed the martian probe. It's the best place for them to set up camp given how little humans know of it.

Yeah Hover dam would be a sick spot... it is in the side of a hell of a lot of rock. Reminiscent of the ship in the volcano kinda.

Mars would be sick... but the bottom of the ocean (where Megatron already is would be sick too.

Okay, now I can see it working. Hoover Dam seems to be a great place for the Bots indeed. It hides their NBE radiation and provides plenty of space and technology. However, the Decepticons know of the location of Hoover Dam and therefore, it wouldn't be the best hiding spot.

Since this is going to be the middle part of a trilogy, the Cons will probably end up with the upper hand. It would be great if their numbers had grown up to twice or more the amount of Autobots, say about 20 against 8. The Decepticons won't get that much background and characterization anyway, so they might as well boost their forces excessively.
It would be great IMO if the Cons would build two bases, one on Mars with Starscream at the command as he gathers more troops. The other on the bottom of the ocean, where a host of Cons under the leadership of Soundwave and Shockwave retreive the bodies of their fallen comrades and start the reanimation/repairs. Starscream would be more interested in building up his forces, perhaps for a coup, while Soundwave and Shockwave attempt to resurrect Megatron.
