MP Movie Starscream HELP please

Hello to all who are reading ths,

I recently aquired a second MP movie Starscream (out of box) and decided to put it out on display, however...
His head jams when pulling at his "breastplate" to activate the electronics.
When I let go, his mouth remains open.

Im an avid customizer and repainter, (although pale in comparison to most of the people on the site ;D).

Could anyone offer me a solution to this problem?

I have cracked the head open and shaved off some of the interior, this fixed the gap he had around the "golden nose" area, but his mouth isn't budging.

Any ideas?
