Ah it's always easy to complain about dubbing. Sure watching the dub the Voice actors seem a little more disconnected from their characters then in the original version, but I think many fan have just been spoiled by the original version (including myself) I first started watching Naruto in english and didn't mind the dub too much, then I moved to the Japanese episodes in order to get ahead, then when I went back to the english version on Cartoon Network I thought it was pretty bad.

I think it's because when listening to the Japanese version I can't really tell what they're actually saying. Yeah there's the subtitles, but that is a translation and even tends to take stuff out. Everyone complains about the english version that naruto says "beileve it" a lot. The Japanese version has Naruto saying "Dattebayo" a lot more often... the thing is that the fan-subs don't actually put that in the subtitles so it's easier for us to miss it. Dattebayo is a nonsence word that's pretty much close to meaning "beileve it" anyway.

I happen to like Naruto, but I wouldn't blame the dub entirely if I didn't. Anyway you have to credit the dubbed version for correcting some of the animation errors that were in the Japanese version.

That is the thing about sub lovers, on average, they rate a Japanese voice actor in their level of "passion" because they don't understand the language.

Though it is very easy to pick apart an English voice actor because of their pronunciation of words, accents, etc. because you speak and understand the language.

That's basically the short version of what I was saying.

All I know is that it's cool to watch the english version on a big screen Hi-Def TV set as opposed to the tiny screen on youtube for the japanese version.

With the only difference that I understand japanese to a pretty decent degree. Finished a large RPG some time ago which was completely in japanese and I can tell ya about 60% of the story.
So yea, I can tell you that japanese voice actors are just that much better.

As I said before, I was changing my username as I outgrew the show/manga, and in anycase, thith the dub, It's just as bad as the source material. The only thing the dub does better is that the voices are intune to ages, especialy Sasuke and Sakura, in japanese they sound 20ish in part 1. Kakashi sounds 40ish. Naruto does sound alot better in japanese. Come to think about it, he and Iruka are the only characters that suffered in the dub.

Dubs are bad period. Naruto is an A-ok show (fillers aside) which gets 8}===D ( Y ) (that's anal raped) by dubs.
That's all there is to it.

Sounds to me of just an other case of "Oh look, this show has become a mainstream populaire thing, I shall now commence hating it to prove i'm better then the masses."

lol, no Wapanese person. I like the english version, I liked having people around me know what the hell was going on, I hated watching Dragonball for the 9th time(Yeah, I like DB That much) It follows DB to much, which is why I turned away.

As for good dubs, Witch Hunter Robin, Cowboy Bebop, FMA(Never liked that show), Inu Yasha(Just as bad in japanese), Azumanga Diaoh(If you get around this: They speak american english in the show, Osaka is in the south of japan, The South is in the south of north america.), despite popular opinion Pokemon was and sill is a good dub(It's a kiddies show, people cannot fathom that), want me to go on?

I have only watched Azumanga in english as of yet(Only had it a week.) I kinda gather the Yukari jokes are alot better in japanese, because they are quite stupid in english, but I will defend AVD making Osaka a southerner.

You insited that I only liked it before it was popular, I responded that I didn't. I started it when it became big in the states before it came to Australia. You make it sound as if dubbing companies and english VAs who do dubs of japanese shows all do a bad job, I gave my opinion on good dubs. It's not my fault that I realised Naruto is Ninja Ball/Z and you haven't.

Okay, ill admit that the above might be a bit extreemish. I used to watch gundam wing in english and didn't minded at all. Also finished S-cry-ed with english voice actors and it was half bad (as in, the female VA's sucked, the male roles did good.). When I recently downloaded S-cry-ed in japanese I almost missed the english VA for the lead male role because it just sounded better.

I was then typing a whole post about how stupid you are and how much I dislike you but then I realised I was getting bored already and I have drivers lessons in 5 minutes so I won't bother.
