And man is the guy ever humble. He didn't know what to say to Werid Al Yakovich. I'm sure most people don't, but come on it's freaking David Kaye. I hope this show really gives fans a sense of his range and shows he can play the hero as well as the villian. And I like his optimus. It's totally different then Chalks, who sounded a lot like Cullan.

BB sounds cute to me, and Cory sounds very cool and menacing as Megatron. And come on, it's being directed by Susan Blu, perfection people. I heard they were going to try for season two or so to get Peter and Frank to come in for an episode or two. Which would be awesome.

My only reservation is the exagerated animation. But I'm giving it a chance.

I've been a fan of Kaye since the begining, I even enjoyed his work on Dead Like Me(however brief it was). Still I'm perplexed as I have no sound n this laptop, so will have to wait till the actual series debuet to here him.

Again, I realy like Davis Kaye's work, but without Gary Chalk...

I'm not saying he an't hold his own, far from it! But it's never good to see a team break up.

Imagine BubbleGum Tate without Sweet Clyde backig him? the GlobeTrotters would never get the ladder set up in time!

This is one of the reasons wy I'm not lookin forward to TFA

Strange... I quite don't like too much the superhero style, I hoped more like the mechs in Eureka Seven (The Nirvash Type ZERO can transform from humanoid mecha to a car first and then to a jet when later upgraded... and it doesn't look cartoonish)

But this is kinda closer to G1 style... lots of humor, action, a not-too-deep plot, etc. Maybe the kids who will watch it, will be the ones that in 20 years will yell 'oh no the new transformers series of this years looks too mecha and too blocky, nothing like the animated series i liked so much'.

That being said, Hasbro has licensing for other automakers because of the Alternator line of toys. It's on the packaging! This is where the animators are just wanting to do something simple and easy. A cop-out. Here's the chance for a U.S. produced TF series again and they go the "cartoony" route.

First off, Kryptoniteking, your argument is very well put. It's nice to see that for a change as opposed to, "OMG! This suxxors!". I hope you don't take my response as an attack.

Having a license to use a car model as a toy, and a license to make it into a nationally-syndicated cartoon are two different things. Sure, Hasbro was able to make the Alternator toys, but running an animated show brings up a whole slew of new legal hurdles and royalty issues. Much like when they made The Tick into a live-action show. They couldn't use Die Fledermaus and American Maid because those characters, while still technically belonging to Edlund, were tied up in legal limbo with other companies.

While it seems like a good chunk of the new show is a HUGE nod to G1 fans...I also sort of like to think that the new style being so far off from the 'blocky' that we all fell in love with in the 80's helps them distance themselves from the "Unicron Trilogy"...which was pretty bad, IMHO. I know some of the episodes in each were pretty good, but on a whole the series were pretty awful.

I, for one, am also glad they're not going with the movie designs on a whole. Granted, Bumblebee looks a lot like movie BB, and Megatron is a nod to both G1 and movie Megs...but the movie designs on a whole don't looks like they'd translate well into animation. Unless it was going to be some over-blown anime, and they could afford to animate the ridiculous amount of detail each TF would require. The streamlined look is easier to animate, yes...but it's also more aesthetically pleasing(once again, this is simply my humble opinion).

I personally can't wait for this series to be out. I think it's going to have the character-development, action, and FUN that made Transformers so great over 20 years ago.

Plus, Grimlock looks freaking sweet.

I think the only problem I might have with this series is the animation. They don't look like robots, plain and simple. It doesn't feel right, they are supposed to be machines yet they look like people in metal suits that turn into vehicles they look nothing like (except the color) and I see pieces that grow from nothingness during their transformations. I'm not sure why they wanted to go with this design plan but apparently the fans seem to like it, maybe I'm being too quick to judge but to me it just doesn't "look" like Transformers.

(p.s. The mega-chins look ridiculous!)
