I think that Optimus is finally moving beyond Movie prime's ruthlessness & basic personality by trying to save a Decepticon...how many primes have actually done that?
(and no, Armada Starscream's side change doesn't count.)
I hoped Brakedown would've Reused to give in to Screamer's pressure and just said "next time, bulky" but oh well.
Also, Im pretty sure a few Mech soldiers got killed in this ep...like the guys in the Chopper Brakedown threw a car at...WHICH EXPLODED...but I like that its not pretending to be merciful.

^yeah I cover that already I don't give flack to Breakdown because he's the villain. MECH is just a mind boggle for me who keeps giving these guys Green sport cars? why Green sport cars instead of black? Also again with project CHIMERA now that I know what the word means Silus may be trying to turn himself in a techno-organic/cyborg thinking it may give him some kind of inmortality. After all He's played by Clancy Brown who play nutjobs wanting to live forever. but it's just speculation kinda sad that the human villain more interesting than Megatron and his gang.

I'm betting Project Chimera will create some kind of robot suit for Silas based off of Optimus' body (Because he does have a scan of him from back in Convoy). We may yet get a Nemesis Prime out of this.
Well, that or bigger guns. Hopefully the former.

Project: Chimera may be elaborated on in next week's episode, seeing as how MECH is in that episode too, along with Airachnid.

I'm hoping that Silas will become a Zarak/Scorponok type character. He does look like a beefed up version of comic Zarak. He might get beast mode knowledge from arachnid next week.

My first impression was that they were gonna try to make a Transformer, like a remote-control version of Optimus. Nemesis Prime would be really clever.

Re: The Official Transformers: Prime Discussion Thread
So just watched this episode of Prime and really I don't how to feel. I can't hate it because it didn't get me frustrated like alot in the past. It actually took mine (or someone) opinion on "why don't they kidnap the humans for leverage." I can't like it because I've seen a situation like this before. It just came down as bland. All I gotta say is "Kicking yourself you didn't keep Breakdowns eye ain't ya Silas." These next two episode "Metal Attraction" is G1 predictable & "Rock Bottom" better give me a reason to care for Jack & Miko.

How to feel about it? Did you have fun watching it or not? I, for one, had a great time. Girl fight! Once the episode got rolling it really got rolling. Sure, there were some soft spots, but it's a 19 minute show about giant robots from outer space....for kids...made to sell toys to said kids. Given that as the starting point I think it's incredibly fun, exciting and leaves me smiling episode after episode.

Okay, I MECH is officially my favorite Human villains for one reason; they don't f**k around. They kidnap, maim, imprison, and activley do evil stuff. Airachnid is also pretty kool.
EDIT: Also, im impressed that the mom's mind wasn't wiped or some dookie like that. Im also glad that they didn't wait till near the end for the parent reveal, like Cybertron. Maybe Orci & Kurtzman know what theyre doing...kind of.

^yeah I've only been saying the villains should have done this plan from episode 7. It just seems that the MALE decepticons are incompetent. And this isn't DC I'm not surprised Jacks mom didn't get mindwipe once you see a Transformers you join there team. Plus now Ratchet probably has a human to pint over.

Right off the bat, the hunter has become the hunted. but the real question is, "Who's really hunting who?"
Airachnid considers herself an "ex-Con".
Okay, Jack's description of "his motorcycle being more than what it really is to his mother is probably the best "I'm friends with Autobots" speech ever given in any Transformers series. He uses no Cybertronian-original terms (all Earthen terms, unless you count "transform"), and yet still uses a high-level vocabulary that shows that the writers aren't trying to talk down to children. Plus, his word choice and the way he says it all prevents it form sounding either corny or like he's crazy. Though, to a nonbeliever, it still sounds like he's lying, but still.
Airachnid continues to prove how deliciously sinister she is, and Silas continues to prove how ingeniously awesome he is!

For Arcee to suddenly wake up at the exact moment at which she's about to be opened up (the very same moment that Airachnid begins to torture Jack and June) seemed a little too convenient and kinda interefered with some of the suspense to the episode. I mean, sure, it was expected that she'd come out of it somehow, but her revival seemed a little too immediate after having been critically knocked out the way she was.
OH YEAH! Agent Fowler! This episode is all kinds of awesome!
SNAP! Airachnid has Dinobot's eye beams! They even light up green before firing!... ahh, scratch that. They aren't laser beams, they're scanner beams. She's scanning a new altmode: Fowler's attack helicopter... which she looks nothing like in her robot mode (she keeps her regular Spider-esque two-legged robot mode that has zero helicopter kibble whatsoever).
And now, June not only finnaly gets that ride Jack promised her, but she at long last meets the Autobots.
For this episode, I just have these three words...
BEST!
EPISODE!
EEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEERRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!
Until a better one comes, that is.

Re: The Official Transformers: Prime Discussion Thread
Jeez Sabr geek out much? I thought the episode was bland and okay. but thats probably me softening up to it. so another good human knows who the Autobots are. All we need now is the ill temper asshole to be that one guy everyone hates but has a point. So next episodes predictable I'm just saying when the premise is Bot's fight Con's for a giant magnet I can summarise it easy. Bot's discover said weapon. Con's want weapon. Bot's screw up Con's get weapon. Use weapon for ruffle around 2 min. Bot's destroy it roll credits. Now Rock Bottom on the other hand has me both scratching my head and interested. 1. We may get character development for Jack & Miko possible romance too why not? 2. How big is said cave/pit/casym the Bot's get trapped in?

June Darby comes off as tough as nails and competent as could be, we’ll be seeing more of her I hope. In fact Ratchet may have found his human friend. Ha, I can just see it now. Them working together, commiserating on how hard it is to get the heroic type to take proper care of themselves. Cue Blukhead smooshing something, they turn as one, “We needed that!”

Any thoughts on that?

He's talking about theoretical human. He's working on the assumption that this show is predictable, despite that Cliffjumper's death should have taught him the opposite.

Yeah Cliffjumper death was the jumping the shark moment for me. After that nothing surprised me except for this episode The villains was actual competent. They actually done something I wanted them to do. Someone outside of the two actual main bads did something worth suspension. I mean all Megatron and Starscream done so far is seeing who's dick is bigger. It'll be a shock if after Silas's whole project goes to the crapper and Megatron insinuate him. Or if Soundwave been working for a entire different faction of Decepticons.

Not the best episode ever but still enjoyable. I was watching some Energon episodes earlier in the week (why i was punishing myself i don't know) and the difference quality between them and this is just mind blowing.

I was actually surprised by that episode. Sure its not as well-written as animated, but we got some good (and not boring, for a change) human interactions, some good human villains AND Jack wasn't actually useless. Plus, Airachnid turning into a chopper? Didn't see that coming at first: now I get the name and she's no longer a poor man's blackarchnia.

Exact opposite for me. It was the moment that proved that this series isn't going to screw around and let people live, and that you really, really shouldn't expect anything.

So I heard there's talk about the possibility of a theatrical movie for Prime. Normally I would complain but you know what maybe they need it. Something an hour and a half long could work for a show like this.

It's been considered, but nothing's set in stone.
