Transformers Animated Series Promo Poster
While Prime looks a little better in that new promo pic, they all still look like ****. And the description of the show in that press release made me gag. Sounds like they're aiming it at 5-year-olds.
I need to see the designs of the Cons now.

Also Bumblebee doesnt appear to be a VW Bug, can anyone say "childhood rape"?
Bumblebee will never ever ever ever be a VW Beetle again, no matter how much anyone wants him to be! It has been stated a whole hell of a lot of times that Volkswagen doesn't want their brand marketed with a "war machine", and as lame as that is, everyone needs to accept that. And if that was sarcasm, Blitzwing, then kindly ignore this.

They sould have done this in claymation.
The good thing about this is that I wont be spending any money on this line. Frees up more funds for encore and G1 reissues I need to get.

I kind of like the look. It is fresh and different. As I have said before, as long as the story is good I will watch.

better than that first prime picture, but still very 0-5 year old look. and I really dont understand how people are hoping the writing and story will be good when its a known fact it wont have a continuous storyline, it will be 1 shot episodes, and every description of it from the creators and whatnot sounds like its aimed at pre-schoolers

Bumblebee's vehicle mode has almost the same front end as the '08 Camaro.
And Prime's fire-truck mode looks exactly like his alt mode in the Cybertron series.

.::: So it is going to be a humorous series after all. In that case, it might actually become kind of fun in a parody/sarcasm-like way.
I can imagine stupid conversations between Starscream and Megatron being rather entertaining. If they both make it in that is. And Prowl is the vain (failing) ninja judging by this pic.

The look is jarring to say the least. But I'm going to give this a shot...as I do with every new TF incarnation. I'm just glad they're moving away from that stiff, boring cgi stuff. You know, would it hurt Hasbro to actually , I don't know, create a version of TF that actually grew up with it's longtime fans? Even if it was a direct to DVD film series, it'd be cool to have a edgier, more mature TFs. I'm just kinda tired of all these Poke'formers.

It continues to impress- does anyone else feel that Powerglide would fit in well with the current aesthetic?

At first i hated it, but then i remembered "holy crap this is Transformers ANIMATED again! With G1 characters and designs!"
I still dont like the style much but im sure it'll grow on me and i'll end up watching it anyway because its TRANSFORMERS! As long as there isnt any Armada/Energon/Cubertron quality (and i use that term looseley) voice acting, this should be a bit of brainless fun and a guilty pleasure to watch at the very least.

Not the best looking series ever, but once it is over, more mature designed based on these designs could be great!
the pendulum cannot swing one way forever. eventually, we will see a return to quality cartoons.
it is just logical that transformers will see some better days ahead. The bumblebee and motorcycle guy designs are really good, and even the big green guy looks okay. with more of a serious tone, they could be dynamite! I for one am tired of most transformers having the same body proportions with just an overall different size. I would not mind seeing transformers that are old, young, fat, or skinny

LOL i know people treat every little transformers thing like the last transformers thing that will eve be made. I like these designs and i cant wait to see the toys. I enjoy alot of cartoon network series. But hey some where in the would some emo is always bitching about somthing eh?
I agree. Why is it that people are ripping everything now? I still say Prime's a Death's Head wannabe in this series, but this image is loads better than the last one we were talking about. The only thing I'm really not liking about this image is that fraking logo. I hate that logo. Rest of it looks pretty good.

Armada Red Alert IS a homage to Ratchet. Sadly Hasbro had trouble with the trademark at the time and went with Red Alert as a backup name. Now they have "Autobot Ratchet" Trademarked again.

I'm keeping an open mind about this. Here's hoping it's at least a ~little~ more 'grown up' than what we have been subjected to for the last 5 years...
