It must be said, Scourge is AWESOME.
However, I saw RID so long ago I remember next to nothing of it.
I agree about Beast Wars though, it was amazing.
Why does RiD get so much hate?

This is a very opinionated bunch of post...some with hate for Japanese Anime.
For all purposes, RID was not a good cartoon, worse it was a year late and old to me. Before the use of torrents, deep in the jungles of the internet, I saw the Majority of TF2000: Car Robots on the web. Car Robots had funny momnets, but I hate dubbing of most anime, especially dubbing dumbed down to cater to kids.
I hate the fact that Black Convoy and the Combatracons names were changed to Scourge and the Decepticons, yet they never showed them with decepticon symbols, they showed them with the upside down G2 autobot logo. Some episodes were cut, and some were re-editied for the US due to translation and the 9/11 attacks.
TF2000 was much better because the fan subbing was on point when I watched it. When RID came out, I was dissapointed.
The other thing I hated was the toys. Everything was dumbed down. Prime had a slight wash out on the colors, Mach Alert's translation into Prowl sucked because the translucency was taken out of Prowl's chest and turned a nasty brown. Sideburn stayed the same mostly. I was really dissapointed with X-Brawn's changes compared to Wildrider. He's missling head lights and tailights, and the paint apps were dumbed down.
I had most of the TF2000 toys, and they were expensive to get. The $10 toys were going for $25 for the TF2000 versions, and Fire Convoy (1st Edition) was ridiculously high going for $90 on ebay back then. I got Valdigus loose for $40, and Black Convoy for $70.
Quality of the toys however is the same. Scourge is looser than Black Convoy, but I like the pink windows Scourge has. However, Black Convoy has the G2 Upside down autobot logos...that's what makes him look more menacing.
All in All, RID was bad, TF2000 was OK.

Why do you, or anyone for that matter, keep calling it "TF2000" when it was never called anything other than "Transformers: Car Robots" or simply "Car Robots"?bvzxa wrote:Before the use of torrents, deep in the jungles of the internet, I saw the Majority of TF2000: Car Robots on the web.

Wasn't that the year it came out in the US?
Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

No, Beast Machines was in the U.S. during 2000-2001. RiD aired in the U.S. during 2001-2002. Car Robots was in Japan during 2000, but was never called "Transformers 2000".Sabrblade wrote:RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:Why do you, or anyone for that matter, keep calling it "TF2000" when it was never called anything other than "Transformers: Car Robots" or simply "Car Robots"?

....that's how we used to search for the toys on Ebay back in 2000. They were listed that way. Car Robots got mixed up with Carrobot, so they called it TF2000 back then.

So it was all due to a misunderstanding that that false name came about. A rumor and nothing more. Got it.bvzxa wrote:http://www.google.com/search?hl=&q=Transformers+2000&sourceid=navclient-ff&rlz=1B3MOZA_enUS375US375&ie=UTF-8
