no offense, but it might not be the camera at fault here. personally, i sucked at taking pictures when i first got my camera. i'm not much better sometimes now, but you just have to figure out what lighting works the best and at what zoom to shot at

figure looks great, btw

heh. the blur in a few pics is from motion, so it's probably low-light interfering with the imagine stabilization. (since I'm guessing that feature is in the camera since the other pics aren't blurry)
If you don't have IS, get a tripod. actually, if the IS isn't working well in low light, maybe get a tripod anyways. Mine has a TON of settings, so it's possible if yours does as well that there's some way to get it take better pictures in low-light. an advanced feature to change for that would be a higher ISO setting. a less advanced one would just be some automatic mode like a "night-time", or "pets & kids" for it's fast-moving objects.

and some pics... you can see it's focused on the background rather than the foreground. I have that problem when trying to take pictures of small foreground objects, but generally don't have problems for things like this. If your camera isn't too close, it's bad auto/manual focus.
There's a little trick, that if you are able to get it to start auto-focus before taking the picture, (usually holding the button half-way down) you can then move the distance between camera and object after it's auto-focused, to manually change the focus; since many digital cameras don't have manual focus, you have to... do it manually. ;> (that is, there's no button for it, you have to move the camera, unlike on film cameras or expensive digital SLR cameras)

I think the jet and tank mode look a little too similar, but that's just my opinion. It does make me think of Animated Blitzwing, even though I don't really remember what he looks like. probably because he's not a typical looking tank or jet, and has triangular tank treads.

thanks for the tips, ravage.i'll try that manual focusing trick next go around,my camera is about 6-7 years old and has no higher brain functions than flash, red eye fix,no flash, and resolution change.......it really might be time for a new camera, course i already bought one and it won't power up.
i agree with you about the alt modes, there was only so much that i could do with a pair of binoculars, and i didn't want do cosmos(or pathfinder) seeing as how someone on the boards beat me to the punch.

Ah, then you definitely need a tripod. even with my camera's image stabilization, and great ISO rating, it can't take pictures in the evening for crap. (I probably gotta play around with it more though. so many settings)
Indoor shots without stabilization are probably comparable.
Or if it has a timer function, sit it down and hit the button. or even if it doesn't have a timer, try taking the picture while the camera is sitting on a solid surface.

Hrm. well it does have huge tank treads hanging off the arms, but whatever. I think there's less problems with the robot mode. It's fine.
