If you'd been working on something like this for several months, you might be touchy too. As I see it, you didn't structure your comments as constructive criticism - just as straight criticism. But he could have taken it better, as well. So...

You just enjoy being a downer about nearly everything I have seen you post about.

Its a good attempt at an under represented figure and I am glad he is doing it.

There's a difference between criticism and constructive criticism. Also, there's something called tact. From your postings and response here, I'm not sure you understand those concepts. It appears you are using "being honest" as an excuse...

If 90% of all your posts were not critical I could possibly buy that. Still leaves the fact that you don't even collect MP scale yet you still troll every MP scale post giving worthless opinions. Not just once to chime in but repeat yourself ad nauseum....

Yes, X's posts require tact and he better get back in line (and I mean NOW), but the guy behind this project needs to bring it down a notch, too. Constructive or otherwise, he doesn't take criticism well and it makes him a target for people like X.

"People like X" know how to keep their cool until somebody breaks out calling them an asshole. Way before i brought up the milk cartons thing, I tried to explain what the aesthetic was missing to really fit in with offical MP figures. He never responded to those posts...

I kind of have to agree that this doesn't look well with MP figures. At least to me anyway. too blocky? too G1? I don't know something doesn't seem right.

I'd say it looks "stiff". Like, MP-01 stiff after we got used to how "dynamic" MP-10 looks. It's not exactly a bad thing, it's just that we're used to expect the new aesthetics of current TF designs. Perhaps that's why they have the other one, Titan, was it? If somebody is buying both of these, I'd imagine Kronos to stand beside MP-01 and Titan with MP-10.

I think "stiff" might be a good way to put it. It doesn't look bad, it just doesn't have that sleek, streamlined look the recent MPs have, or other MP-scaled figures like Quakewave have. We'll see once colored test shots come out.

I mostly agree with what Rated X has been saying, even if he has lacked tact. But then this is Rated X's version of tact:



However, it IS better for the designer to listen while this is still in the R&D stage than to forge ahead with 1,000 units at great personal expense and then find that half of those people who said how awesome it was were just being nice and do not follow through and buy the figure. At least at this stage, something can be done with the criticism. I quite like this piece but it fits in nowhere. It is too G1 for Masterpiece, and not G1 enough for G1. As a standalone figure, it is nice. But aesthetically where do you put it?

It has that look of something designed by committee.
Close to what everyone wants, but actually pleases no one.

I agree with what others have said here, it lacks a certain level of detail present on the MP line figures, but it is over articulated and too large to fit a G1 collection. Though Skyfire done in a G1 style would be kind of cool!

the outer helmet ruins this as its overly small & too Feminine in design. the lower part of the head is sculpted on a horrible hill slant like Plantinum Ultra Magnus lower head is.

I have personally seen pics of Kronos' test shot and it is looking great. ARAFAT209 has made a lot of tweeks to make Kronos more dynamic looking and less static. I think you all will be very pleased when it is revealed. I should be getting a test shot in 3 weeks or so and I should be able to take some pics then.
