G1 Season 3 or IDW G1?

I just read that IDW version of G1 takes place in 2005. Since a lot of people thought that G1 season 3 sucked so is IDW's version is better? Or you guys still like G1 season 3?

It doesn't take place in 2005.
When it started it took place in 2006, and the years have past since then. I believe it currently takes place in the year 2013.
