My dogs (border collies) got ahold of a mighty muggs Jazz and gnawed off all his limbs in the time it took me to take a shower. Since then I dont leave anything any creature level.

My man cave is on hold for bit at while moving the big display case down my step it went out of control and ended up landing on my foot. Nothing broken but it really swollen and bruised. Anyways, once I get get the case fixed up and installed I should be set. Right now Im trying to figure out what to do about lighting. It is wired for florescents but dont want to use them if they will destroy the figures over time.

What is the cheapest option for safe lighting?

LED lighting is the way to go. Beware, it is NOT CHEAP. But it's a must.

Why?

--No heat.
--Very low energy consumption.
--Most importantly, NO UV AT ALL.

UV rays are the devil that will yellow your figures, and any lighting emit some. I heard direct sunlight is a culprit too. But LED emit none.

Avoid hallogen at all cost. These lamps generate so much heat, I almost set fire to my living room with one.

Coming back to LED lighting, the price range from 25$ to 80$ for a set of three 2.5" disks. A disk do a decent job. Sticks are more expensive.

Here, have an update for my new lighting system. I glued wooden blocks under the shelves to give an angle to the disks.

Now, to find a way how to hide these electric cords...
